Korean Zombie is a legend!

KZ/Cub should have been his last fight, in my opinion. I'm always going to root for Max and I hope he wins tonight/tomorrow, but that it's quick and far from brutal for KZ.
I'm going for KZ cuz he's old AF and WAS elite. I don't want him to end up like nam phan.

Not many reaching the highest levels. KZ and DHK were the most consistent in the top 10. Superboy had potential and others like Kyung Ho Kang are doing well but not a ton are able to make it to the top 10 and stay there. Seems like South Korea has been close to breaking through but the consistency just isn’t there yet. Hopefully it continues to get better
I wish I could pinpoint Cha's footprint on KZ. I liked a lot of the precision and combinations hes conditioned KZ with. Hes a much more polished fighter in that regard.

But hes still very hittable with overhands and his head is still......very still

Yeah sadly I think this is the end, last fight on his contract.

I truly believe KZ would have been champ if not for his country forcing him into military work, those were his best years he just lost

Really wanted him to win the belt but the Volk fight was it, and now I am just hoping for one last crazy fight

I wouldn't say he is a legend but he is a good fighter and great representative for Korean MMA in the UFC. Legend is like Sakuraba who had a signature fight with Royce who is another legend. KZ doesn't really have any high stakes highlight fights. He is on the receiving end of the elbow KO.
Lmao of course you like a Japanese fighter more...unfortunately sakuraba was during the infancy of the sport where the skill level was rudimentary

Zombie is the only Asian male to fight for the UFC title twice..he's arguably the most accomplished Asian male in the sport.

Bro come on. You are smoking crack if you think Zombie is more influential to this sport than Sakuraba. I get that you are Korean but you really dick ride Korean stuff to a fault. I dub you the Korean Dreyga now.

As well as Gomi, Yamamoto, Sakurai (and probably others) who most would count as more successful than KZ.

He’s a cool guy

Why does KZ have such a hardcore fanbase?

The guy never fights and his most impressive win was over a decade ago. His record is nothing to write home about either.

Not trying to hate. Just genuinely curious why people love him so much.

Because he fights his fuckin ass off every time he steps in the cage.

If you’re not a fan of TKZ you’re not a fan of MMA(or at least exciting fights)

Sakuraba is the only UFC HW champ who could have fought at WW. Goat.

Because he is a warrior and has been in so many wars. He is also humble, respect, and Asian. So many Asian can relate and support him. I wouldn't be surprised if OP is korean

legend no doubt 2 legends fighting tonight.

That's the 1st ever twister sub btw.

He's got a good chance to KO Max. He hits hard and I saw Max crying in a presser. He's definitely not fully focused. Cry after you win.

Both haven't evolved. Max's pace helped him crush his competition but vs Max it hurt him. If he bangs with Zombie he might get rekt. Also the part about crying. Zombie is in need of a big win. It might be worth throwing chump change at. I like both. Likely Max by decision but I voukd see a Zombie KO due to the crying as i stared before and lack of focus.

It's almost time. The long wait for me is almost over. This has been my dream fight for a very long time. It's happened a tad later than what I had hoped for, but better late than never.

Hoping to see a banger tonight from both men, but I will be rooting for KZ.

That seems like a bit of a casual take. Zombie in his prime was one of the most exciting fighters and could have been a champ if he didn't have the mandatory service for his country. That took alot of time away from his prime. Zombie was doing okay in Aldo title fight too before his shoulder went out.

Its unfortunate that Zombie couldn't realize his true potential.

Fuck man what a sendoff. The UFC did him right with this event and post-fight video. Everyone saying he’s not a legend is a tomato can lol. Yup they definitley do this for every other fighter out there when they retire

Pretty much, the guy is a true just bleed legend, he may not have ever been champ but that's not what defines a legend in this game.

Hespect the Zombie he deserves it, he went out on his shield like a true G.

Look what happened to Gomi in the UFC..the Japanese fighters got exposed in the US

I know the Pride nostalgia is strong but it's not realistic

This is why you are a biased MMA fan. Gomi was losing overseas before he already made his UFC debut. It's not like he only fought Japanese people overseas. People do fall out of their physical prime especially if they don't have a gym to train at and drink all the time. I can agree that fighters in the past aren't as polished as fighters today but that is true for all fighters. It's not a race thing. It isn't a Japanese vs Korean thing like you automatically default to. You completely ignore my original statement of a legend like Sakuraba facing off with another legend of the sport in Royce. You just zoom into Sakuraba being Japanese and ignore Royce.

Gomi for years was consensus number 1 or 2 in the world. What was Zombie's highest rank? How long did he hold on to that? What were his showcase fights? Were they high stakes? I don't even want to critique KZ. I believe he is an awesome exciting fighter but he isn't a legend. He might be pioneer of the sport in Korea but I can argue Yul Chul Nam was the original Korean pioneer in MMA. He was doing that when the sport wasn't even popular in Korea.
