Not sure if this was posted before, but here is the NTSB preliminary report (PDF file), published sometime in February on the Kobe Bryant fatal helicopter crash in California :

Certainly having read that report, it looks more and more like CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain) to me, a VFR-only aircraft/pilot flying into IMC conditions.
