This is only the case if all guns can be removed from a population. Hence your argument ignores the fact that defensive use of firearms has been implimented to stop a mass shooting. One of the more notorious in the news was the guy ignoring no carry laws and had his Glock handgun; he eliminated a guy with an AR-15.

There is no other country in Europe who has fought Islam more than what now is Spain (there were many smaller kingdoms when it all started back in the 8th century and there was no Spain until late in the 15th century). The Reconquista was a long, incredibly complex process that lasted over 700 years... and all the countries in Europe (and even some people in Spain) could have learned a thing or two from this historical event, of which the most important is: There is no possible integration of muslims into our culture . And this is mainly because they flat out refuse to do so. After centuries of occupation in Spanish territory, the DNA heritage from northern africa in present times is only ranging from 0 to 11% depending in the region (stronger in the south, almost non existant in the north). This is due to muslims refusal of mixing with the local population and adopting any of their cultural traits. Even after the Reconquista was completed, the tensions never stopped growing, culminating in the expulsion of moriscos in 1609. There was no other option left other than sending them all back to Africa. What happened after this? Spain and the rest of western European countries thrived and shaped the western world we live in today and the islamic civilizations that 700 years back were so far ahead got stuck in time and they currently still are in the same spot.
Nothing has changed from that time and the sooner everyone realizes, all the better. Look at what happened in countries like Lebanon. When these guys are a minority they aren't an issue, when they are the majority, it's either assimilation or death for the rest.
