I'm saying we shouldn't be telling other countries what to eat and not eat when we have disgusting slaughterhouses ourselves. It's very hypocritical.

There's almost no difference between a pig and dog in intelligence (actually pigs are slightly more intelligent) and pigs make great pets. Yet we eat them and DGAF. So it's just our cultural bias saying dogs are somehow pets and pigs are food. It's completely arbitrary.

It is legal in 44 states to eat a dog or a cat. What? Yes, your dog could end up on a plate with a side of rice and a carrot curl for garnish. It is illegal to sell dog or cat meat in the United States but 44 states allow its personal consumption. Indian reservations are exempt from such restrictions.

What this means is you can humanely kill and eat a dog or cat but you can't sell it at a restaurant or supermarket. You can invite the neighbors over for dinner, though.

Unless you're a vegan, you shouldn't be for banning any animal for human consumption. I wouldn't eat a dog unless absolutely necessary, but I also don't tell people how to live.
