All I know is that Van Damme better do some really cool shit in this movie. I've waited 19 years for him to do another MA movie and the wait better have been worth it.

Plot Twist....

Van Damme trians the new Kurt Sloane, but Tong Po kills him in their match.

Van Dammage gets back in the ring to avenge his shitty protege who couldn't fight

Van Damme wins, freeze frame *roll credits*

schwarzenegger was a terrible actor and almost all his movies are great :P

His acting in the terminator was great. He was also good in predator (saw that recently). By commando he is a parody of himself but I kinda feel Arnold chose to act that way (as he was fully aware he would never be the average "character actor". He's much savvier than he portrays himself as, even his accent is surely fake (I.e also devolved into a parody of his 80s self). I've seen people switch accents in months yet he still sounds like that? He's keeping himself classic arnie for as long as he can.

You get the point. Movie can be good with bad actors and vice versa.

I thought he acted well in Twins.

Who is the lead here?

Btw that teaser was fu*ken hype!

I expect it to suck but I'm still seeing that.

How come i'm only hearing about this one now??

Agreed with most. Cheesy as hell, but definite watch.

Then later, i can bit*h how sequels and reboots have destroyed multiple franchises. Yeeeah, can't wait...

Am i the only one thinking Carano (with her kickboxing history) actually is the most deserving to appear in this movie? Also, Bautista as Tong Po? No.

so many bad actors in 1 movie it is truly amazing

KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE Sequel KICKBOXER: RETALIATION Begins Pre-Production

The team behind the Kickboxer remake, Kickboxer: Vengeance, due to be released in theaters later this year, has already begun pre-production for the film’s sequel, Kickboxer: Retaliation.

Our House Films in association with Acme Rocket Fuel has announced that Hafthor Julius Björnsson (aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones) will be the Kickboxer’s next formidable foe. The film, which will be directed by its co-writer and producer Dimitri Logothetis, will have Alain Moussi and Jean-Claude Van Damme, among others, reprising their roles as they match against a syndicate of criminals.

Hafthor, who recently wrapped production on season six of Game of Thrones, has further established himself and gained online notoriety from his social media post that went viral showing him sparring UFC’s champion, Conor McGregor.

Filming on Kickboxer: Retaliation is set to begin in Thailand in May, immediately following Hafthor’s battle at the 2016 World’s Strongest Man competition.

They must have a lot of faith in this movie, because even though it hasn't come out yet, they're already casting the sequel...

UFC Fighter & ‘DWTS’ Contestant Paige VanZant Joins ‘Kickboxer: Retaliation’ Pic

EXCLUSIVE: Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Paige VanZant is heading out of the cage and onto the big screen for her feature debut. The UFC’s eighth-ranked Women’s Strawweight fighter and current Dancing With The Stars finalist contestant will be joining Kickboxer: Retaliation.

In the latest pic in the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme-originated Kickboxer franchise, VanZant will play Gamon, a 26-year-old with high-level fighting and shooting skills with some strong criminal connections too. The role was specifically written for VanZant after producers saw her on the ABC dancing competition show this season. “Paige is the up-and-coming darling of the UFC and her star quality shines through on camera,” producer Rob Hickman of Our House Films said in a statement. “She’s a tremendous asset to the film both as an onscreen talent and as a trainer fighter.”

Retaliation is the sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance which stars newcomer Alain Moussi, Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, Van Damme and Gina Carano. Directed and written by Dimitri Logothetis, Vengeance comes out this fall.Kickboxer: Retaliation brings Kurt Sloan (Moussi) to Thailand to fight against Mongkut portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays formidable The Mountain on Game Of Thrones.

This is just confusing - using same characters but then using the same actor in a completely different role

Would of been better leaving JCVD out of it.

I guess we're looking at a The Longest Yard situation.

And that went great...

No shit. Weird.

My first reaction was that women in Kickboxer movies are just supposed to get show their tits and get raped and bleed.

But then I remembered Michelle Krasnoo from Kickboxer 4.

Haha. What a joke. If Van Damme was smart he would do comedies. Just be a caricature of himself like Tyson. I would totally watch a movie that poked fun at old action stars being washed up, and weak.

Jesus titty fucking Christ.

And not in a good way.

No no I'm fucking hyped guys

This is going to be a solid B + Martial arts movie

LMAO! This movie looks shit tier at best. Gina Carrano and GSP? I mean, good for them that there working and making money, but this is a movie that I'll pass up. Just not my cup of tea.

JCVD has gone the route of Steven Segul imo.

No way dude

JCVD has wayyy better movies then segul

and JCVD is actually still in shape. Segul is like 500 pounds lol

Absolutely. Seagal is literally a fucking joke now. Van Damme's STV movies may tend to be dull and uninspired, but they're not unintentional comedy. And like you say, Van Damme has stayed in shape all these years instead of becoming a walking donut like Seagal.
