There gets to be a point however where you proved what you want in your sport and it's okay to leave. I remember seeing an interview with Pierre about how he likes some type of science (anthropology maybe) and once he is done fighting, he will be perfectly happy doing other things.
Agreed. And from my perspective, the guy has accomplished everything in the sport. I am really not sure what is left for him. There will always be some hungry young guys looking to dethrone him, but at the time he left he beat all the best and has several all time great wins under his belt. Plus, given his comments on PEDs in the sport, who can blame him?
It's actually nice to see him go out on top.
