Khamzat will never fight again

You could have a point, it’s essentially what WWE is doing right now to their top guys. Brand loyalty is what these companies sell people on, not a good product.

Exactly. They're in the business of selling fights, not fighters. It may have been different beforehand, but the Ngannou affair shows that there has been a sea change in their attitudes towards stars. They don't want anyone to rise above the brand.

It's worse than that. There won't be any cards after Saturday.

The UFC is tired of dealing with fighters and management period. They want it all to end and the sooner the better. Dana has gone completely grey so he'll never grow his hair again. They need this wild, wacky roller coaster ride to end definitively.

Their lawyers are in court trying to get MMA illegalized in all American states. I'm just waiting for their press release.
I have a really inside connect that told me, in full confidence of course, that they plan to change their game entirely. they're going to keep the UFC moniker, but change the F to Foosball.

it'll be announced around April. that's actually what was going on back stage when Dana couldn't put the belt on Francis, the execs were finalizing the decision and picking which F sport to move forward with, so they could keep the name and brand recognition.

word is it'll be extreme Foosball. and Venum will continue to provide game kits.

Will they use the 4oz gloves??!?

My theory: after their bust up with Ngannou, the UFC brass have made a conscious decision to discourage avoid marketable and dominant champs whose selling power may exceed that of the UFC brand. Khamzat has all the hallmarks of one such fighter, and he's been frozen out as a result. They want bland, boring, uninteresting fighters with no name value, and who by extension are in a less advantageous position via a vis the UFC in contract negotiations.

I just have a funny feeling that we've seen the last of him. The UFC is dead set on cockblocking his next fight with Burns and shows little to no interest in scheduling him.

Just my two cents.
Think about how illogical this is. There's no way that is what they want....

The bigger the star they have, the more money they make. It's ridiculous to think they don't want stars. Hell, they wish they had 5 or 6 more guys or girls with potential marketability like GSPs, Lesnars, Rondas and Conors

Yeah, that's a no for me dawg.

There is a consensus among some fighters and the media that you're never gonna see another Conor McGregor again and that a fighter like that has too much power in the promotion. I think you're certainly on to something here. The UFC does want to build stars no doubt that can generate revenues and PPV, but they do want to keep it in control.

I believe that's called moving the goalposts.

Do you mean Conor caused this problem?

They had no interest in Ngannou, despite his marketability.

They want Dana to be the top draw and the star of the show. The more selling power an individual fighter has, the more money they can demand.

That's their logic IMO.
What marketability are you talking about? They gave him a massive push before the first Stipe fight. The guy is still not a star. Who is his fanbase?? People in Cameroonthat have never bought a ppv in their lives? He has the personality of a coconut and has literally bashed the company in public.

Gane has a much bigger upside business wise. He’s got a whole country where mma is now legal to capitalize on. He’s younger, much more active, and isn’t wanting to go box for a one time fantasy fight that may never happen.

You literally have no real logic in anything you’ve said.

Then why would they keep Conor around.

Maybe they want a top 5 with the lowest risk but they see Burns as a risk. They learned from the past in not setting up the right opponents that prevented a big title shot profit. That is why they hype fights, its just so people pay more, but in MMA in only works for so long.

He's an enormous scary black dude who KTFO's people in seconds. That's incredibly marketable. That's what made Tyson such a huge star back in the day.

Use your head man.

Ooof bad blue belt post. Yeah, the UFC totally doesn't want guys like Brock or Conor. They definitely don't promote guys like Darren Till and Paddy Pimblett. Your logic is perfect. LMAO.

So the organization starving for big draws, won't market a guy who has the potential to become a big star because it might make them good money?

I really hope you don't own your own business.
