Your performances in the octagon matter more than your credentials. Davi Ramos is the reason Gilbert Burns isn't an ADCC gold medalist and look what Makhachev did to him while in his guard in round 3. RDA smashing Diaz, Cowboy & Pettis while inside of their guards + being the only one to sweep Usman in the UFC is more impressive than anything grappling related Burns has done in his MMA career.

Cause he’s beating the #2 guy in his 11th fight instead of his 27th like Khabib was.

Khamzat lost his aura but answered many questions at the same time.
Bottom line: he is not the incible legendary monster we were sold, but he is legit AF and a threat to anyone at WW.

He is incredibly strong in wrestling.
Chin is OK, got dropped but held well alltogether. He has legit heavy hands, excellent jab.
He could not outgrapple Burns, which is interesting but Burns is bad MF on the ground.
Cardio held up 3 rounds at high pace. Did slow down, so not on Usman/Colby's level.

Yes because Khamzat has been using a much more aggressive style since he has been in the UFC the Khabid did when he first started in the organization as well. Khamzat learned that elite fighters will make you pay at MUCH highter rate from the mistakes that naturally come from employing that same excessively aggressive style against them. In Khabibs first four fights in the UFC he had 2 decisions victory's, one third one stoppage and one first round stoppage, where as in Khamzats first four fights in the UFC the longest it took him to finish his opponent is 2 rounds. So if you want an explanation for the difference in damage taken in his first fight against a top 5 fighter its the difference in fighting style.

You can make a case for RDA as a better offensive grappler than Burns, I fully agree. You cannot however make a case for RDA being a better defensive grappler than Burns. RDA has been outwrestled by Usman, Colby, Khabib, Chiesa, etc. Burns clearly presents a larger threat defensively.

He gets absolutely nailed, but gets a win against a bunch of regional scrubs with losing records. He still wins, but he is at about Khamzats record fighting 2-0 fighters at the time.Khamzat just beat the #2 guy to go 11-0.. Khabib wasn't in the UFC at that point.
