Khamzat could’ve wrestled Burns down if he wanted. It’s Burns on the ground that was dangerous, I don’t think Usman poses the same ground threat.

Exactly my thoughts too, Burns is probably the worst matchup for Khamzat at WW. He won't hesitate to turn it into a grappling contest against Usman if it doesn't work out
on the feet.

Idiots act like rankings are title belts. Rankings are transitory. Burns is ranked #2, but his last 4 wins are over Wonderboy, Woodley, Demian Maia, and Gunnar Nelson

Wonderboy is still a solid win, but even he is past his prime. Woodley is way past retired. Maia isn't in the UFC anymore and Nelson is irrelevant. Not saying that Burns isn't a very good fighter, but the welterweight division has been stagnant for a LONG time

Considering Khamzat's big size advantage, I think his getting dropped multiple times shows that his striking is way too underdeveloped and his fight IQ is questionable

You hopeless bums were all acting like Khamzat should have been -1500 (I can quote that) and that he was going to run through Burns easily before killing both Usman and Izzy in the same night.
At some point, it seemed like half of Sherdog would have agreed Khamzat might beat Ngannou.

Now you're acting like a razor close decision against a "washed-up LW in Gilbert" proves you right.

He probably inflicted more damage tonight then Khabib did in his whole career too.

Khamzat just ignored gameplan, got obsessed with chasing KO over Gilbert and thats it. Good day at the job, he will learn a lot from this, could have controlled Gilbert on the ground i believe but chose to stand and bang, his wish for having a war was obliged and now hopefully understands that fight game is also about being smart. Even his coach hated seeing it

The thought was Khamczat can't be touched - he was touched...... repeatedly.

He'll have a harder time grappling with Usman than standing with him tbh.

Khamzat fought the #2 guy in his 11th fight.

Khabib did that in his 27th fight.

He looked incredibly human tonight, I think the unstoppable force aura the UFC tried to cultivate has faded

And Khabib won by finish.

MW Khamzat nearly got finished, dropped, cut and beaten up. Sloppy performance against and ex LW.

Fun fight though.

And you think Khamzat in his 27th fight wouldn’t have been that dominant?

57-0 Goatmagomedovs stay winning

Khamzat left his chin out there and got cut up, wobbled repeatedly and dropped by the first top opponent he fought

Khabib just has way better fight iq, grappling, cardio and boxing defence

Gilbert "Dan Hookers Victim" Burns nearly beat Khamzat tonight

That remains to be seen...But my point was that he was avoiding the ground game with Burns, he won't do so with Usman if he realizes he's able to take him down at will.
