Fight should have been a draw.
Cleft lip has been exposed, hype is gone, his face has been beaten & cut up. He's just another fighter that eked by Burns with a decision.

I thought Burns edged it but very close fight. What a war. Both came out winners.

Also - I hope everyone who keeps discrediting Burns as a LW fuck right off now.

I think the issue is that everyone expected Khamzat to literally kill Burns in 30 seconds

But what happened was a close decision, one in which Khamzat got dropped at least twice maybe more (even when he didn't fall, he got clocked clean plenty of times)

Which is fine against someone like burns, but again the hype was that Burns was a bum and Khamzat would kill him

The hype was that he's the next MJ, the next Jones, Prodigy, etc etc. Ariel Helwani said that Burns wont take Khamzat to deep water. even I feel for it.

And Burns might be the #2 on paper, but a lot of people don't actually consider him that

Colby and maybe even Leon, Luque might be above him. And above everyone else is Usman

I agree fully with the part were you said that people did not respect burns.
That being said, those people dont know him or does not know the sport.
The guy is fuckin super high level, especially at 170

Between colby and chimaev, it will be a stand up affair dont you think ?
I mean i dont see colby bringing down chimaev, yet they will trade and with intensity similar to what we saw tonight, i dont see colby surviving those kind of exchanges.
Kamaru its something else
Kamaru barely beat Colby in their last fight. Colby has a great chin, and may well outlast Khamzat in a crazy war-of-attrition, type fight. And while people give Colby a hard time for his striking and striking defense technique, Khamzat certainly didn't look any better tonight. He relied solely on grit and chin.

Not ture. The one punch landed by Conor had the total acculimative effect of 1000 burns right hands.

I mean these comparisons are silly anyway. There is no reason to tear khamzat down to prop khabib up or vice versa. It's not needed.

Khamzat is so good/legit that because he didn't beat the #2 WW in 7 seconds the narrative has now shifted to "Usman will smash him" or "Colby will smash him".

Bro, Burns rocked Usman bad. Burns would maul Colby.

Chimaev is unorthodox in his striking, to say it nicely but he generates power in those exchanges, something that i dont see colby doing.
He made some improvements recently but he is not that lethal.
If they exchange in the pocket like tonight, i m curious how you see colby winning.
But its only one opinion

Everyone who has a clue about grappling clearly sees Khamzat is strong and wild but doesn't nearly have the technicality and the control Khabib has on the ground

Strikingwise, he hits hard and stuff but his striking is clearly unpolished at this point (no headmovement, lackluster footwork, decent at best guard)

+ he doesn't have Khabib's cardio

There is only one Khabib, Khamzat is young, strong, has good wrestling and heart, he might be champion one day but I don't think he is Goat material like Khabib.

I do think it’s a standup affair as well. Colby can absolutely be dropped. But he recovers and throws volume. I thought he won 3 rounds against Usman earning the draw. But regardless, he has shown competence standing. It will be an interesting fight. Who will win that fight is far from clear. Both have good paths to victory.

Clip of Gilbert dropping Khamzat and following up with a soccer kick and 12-6 elbows right to the back of the head. I'm glad the kick missed and we got to see that third round.

Lol he walked down Gaejthe and Conor and ate their best shots...

It's not his fault his opponents wilt to his pressure
Dustin as well. Dustin arguably had Khabib in the most trouble of his career with that guillotine. Khabib stayed calm and got the RNC
