They handed him a new / larger contract not long ago. You think they’re gonna pay him to crush unranked cans just to excite Sherdoggers? That’s not how it works.
What you just said literally goes to the point i'm making lol

Lol Tibau did jack shit except get pressed against the cage for 3 rounds.... Burns smashed Khamzat's face repeatedly
Did you see Burn's head after the fight? Khamzat simply takes more risks. Khabib could not even land a takedown.

It's insane to pit an unranked opponent against #2 - let alone a guy you want to catapult into stardom.

We should have seen Khamzat fight at least 2 more times before getting to the top 5. He took real damage tonight (and imo lost the fight). For what - $20k?

Well the plus side is his cumulative career damage is remarkably low compared to his standing in the division. Just has to rest, recover, and come back.

Khamzat needs to adopt the discipline Khabib and Islam had and keep it Halal. Some of the blame should be put on Till, that type of friendship and his haram lifestyle.

Good learning lesson for fighting the top guys. He'll become more calculated now.

I think he has very good cardio but all his punches are thrown with lot of energy same shit with mark madsen

Colby has never looked as gassed as Khamzat did tonight and Colby went toe to toe with the champion of the weight division.

I think Colby is garbage outside of the Octagon with his attitude but to say Khamzat beats him at this point is silly. I get it though. Khamzat is gold and fun but he showed he was beatable and that's he human.

Colby beats him. And by the looks of tonight, it'll be a land slide.

Khamzat showed inexperience, but he won so no harm no foul I suppose. I thought Khamzat won, but it was close.

All this fight proved was that Covington has no path to victory. He won't be able to take Chimaev down. Khamzat's striking IQ is not great but it shouldn't be an issue against pillow hands covington
Colbys pressure would gas Khamzat, especially in a main event. If Khamzat couldn't knock out Burns, he's probably not stopping Colby

This fight exposed Khamzat in many ways.
1. His tendency to brawl.
2. Poor Cardio.
3. Poor Striking defence.
4. Average Chin. Not an Iron chin like Khabib/Jones. Which now makes him susceptible to KOs.
He still won though against a top opponent. He just took a massive leap in comp and won

Because Khabib didnt have a competitive fight against Tibau? khabibs 11th fight was against a below 500 scrub; Khamzats 11 fight was against Gilbert fucking Burns.

Dana made stuff clear if this went the decision!!!

You all know it!

split decision I could understand!
But unanimous?

As soon as I heard all 3 judges… I said Danna Noooo

In what universe do you live in that Khamzat didn't win rounds 1 & 3? I'm genuinely curious, Khamzat landed more cleaner shots, completely controlled the tempo, landed kicks to the body, controlled the grappling exchanges, there isn't a shot in hell Khamzat lost the 3rd round. Gilbert was clearly gassed and his punches were 1 punch wild haymakers that would get blocked, rolled off the shoulder, or missed. Go back and watch that fight and see what I'm talking about then come back. I'm not saying Khamzat blew him out of the water, but that was a pretty clear 29-28 fight in Khamzat's favor.

I loved that fight. It was a beautiful show of heart in Khamzat vs. Gilbert.

But heart won't beat Colby. And won't even get close to Kamaru.

I questioned his chances. I questioned Khamzat. And I was right. Yeah he's good. But not as good as Colby and not even in the same bracket as Kamaru.

Awesome showing though.
I'm not so sure Colby is better than Burns. And I'm not so sure Usman is that much better than Colby.

Khamzat beat Burns in an all striking match, which is actually scary considering his main weapon is wrestling. He took down Burns whenever he wanted but chose to have a stand up war. Not the best decision making, but he showed chin, heart, and great striking skill. Neither Colby nor Usman present the BJJ threat, nor the speed of Burns. That said, Khamzat still has things to learn about how to control a fight. He cannot rush a finish every fight at the top of the division.

UFC can't do that though as they have hyped Khamzat to be the next great champ.
