As someone who stated how underappreciated and disrespected Burns was going into the fight, I called 29-28 in favor of Khamzat before the results were announced. Khamzat took rounds 1 and 3. Gilbert took round 2.

I loved that fight. It was a beautiful show of heart in Khamzat vs. Gilbert.

But heart won't beat Colby. And won't even get close to Kamaru.


I questioned his chances. I questioned Khamzat. And I was right. Yeah he's good. But not as good as Colby and not even in the same bracket as Kamaru.

Awesome showing though.

Do people just understand why Khamzat slowed? Why Gilbert slowed? Do people not understand the pace at which those dudes fought at? That was CONSTANT action, constant fighting, those two were trying to hit each with fucking everything. Khamzat even kept it on the feet for the fans. That was a statement fight for Khamzat and Gilbert has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Colby isn't going to take shots like that and keep it pushing for 25 minutes. When you have Khamzat walking you down throwing uppercuts, hooks, jabs that shit will start to hurt. Khamzat has fought just as many guys in the current top 10 as Colby has lol. I love watching Colby fight, but I wouldn't write off Khamzat.
