Practice says a lot to be honest. People know what's up from the sparring sessions. It's a big deal in boxing because the sparring sessions are practice fights. Lots of fighters get ducked due to what happens during sparring sessions in boxing/mma.

Corey Anderson just KO Bader and he was saying he used to easily beat him when they sparred together.

some guys are champions of the gym and some guys really know how to show up when it's time to fight. I'm with Iverson on this one.
Those are very few people. It's the bright lights and pressure that gets them. The majority is the same in practice and in fights. If people aren't good during training you wouldn't assume they would be good during the big fights. That's not how it works. People get scouted from their training in all sports, especially ball sports. Higher percentage people performing well in practice also perform well during the games/fights.

He just ran through Hooker who went life and death with Poirier but yeah sure, Islam ain't ready. Maybe after he beats nine more guys he'll earn the right to fight 5-3 Gaethje or 1-1 Chandler.
Islam should have gotten a ranked opponent after he KO'd Gleison Tibau. But he had to get to a 7 fight win-streak just to get his first ranked opponent.

Meanwhile Hooker can be ranked #14, and get to fight #5 ranked Barboza.

Hooker then loses that fight via horrific beatdown.

Then #15 Hooker fights #6 ranked Iaquinta.

Not every fighter can fail up the rankings like Dan Hooker.

This is true

It's now idiocy to consider Adesanya, a battle tested MW champion, a favourite in a hypothetical match up over a guy who still doesn't even have a win over a top 10 fighter at WW let alone MW? Jesus I hope you're trolling.
You can favour him, alright. He wrote that Khamzat doesn’t stand a chance against him. That’s an idiocy

Honestly to suggest Khazmat would be a favourite over Adesanya today is lunacy. To then point to Khazmat finishing an unranked MW whilst Adesanya's dominated and finished legitimate MW guys like Vettori, Whittaker, Brunson etc is just asinine. Whittker also would fuck up Khazmat, clearly you're just trolling. Carry on. Next you're going to claim Khazmat's the better striker too.
I think this card only proved what we already knew, always favour the wrestler over the striker. Look at Islam vs Hooker, Khamzat vs Leech and even Jan vs Glover.

same with chuck and tito

I mispoke when I said he has no chance. He definitely has a chance, just a small one. I was simply exaggerating because the rest of the thread was so insane that I felt I had to go the other way to balance things out.

He has a chance, but it's small. Adesanya is bigger, faster, a much better striker, and his TDD is very solid, plus his movement is so good that it is hard to shoot a TD on him in the first place. Couple that with great cardio and an iron chin, and you have a solid recipe to beat anyone. Khamzat hasn't proven himself against the elite of WW, let alone MW.

That being said, I think Khamzat looks elite, and would be surprised if he didn't get a title shot relatively soon. Whether he beats Usman (Or Colby) IDK, but he will be an elite at WW for a good long while.
Adesanya isn’t bigger than Khamzat. I’m not sure he’s faster either. He has more tools as a striker that’s the only thing I’m sure Izzy has an advantage. It’s Izzy’s TDD is solid, but if Jan can get him down, Khamzat can do that as well.

Usman is definitely a harder fight for Khamzat than Izzy. Khamzat vs Usman will determine who’s the best WW of all time

If Khamzat has a chin. He wins cause his takedowns would be too much for Izzy. I still think Khamzat becomes the first man to win the WW and MW belt before 2023.

Holy sh*t peak autism right there buddy
Holy shit peak retard there budboy!

Comprehension not your strong point I take it.

A 6"2 guy who struggles to make weight should not be fighting lower than MW.
The way he handled his opponent speaks far more about why stopping weight cutting is a good thing than anything about him as a fighter.

Do that at 185 or 205 and it will be impressive.

To be fair Hooker fought Vick after losing to Barboza which was a decent match up at the time. But yes your point stands, Hooker has been given the opportunity to move up the rankings much more quickly than Islam for some reason.

I just want to see how good he is. His opponent on Saturday has been out wrestled easily before multiple times.
Luque’s the most slept on welterweight rn, 13-2 in his last 15 fights with 12 of the wins coming by stoppage. He could compete with anyone in the division.
