Khamzat is the real Holyfield

Imagine thinking this killer could get bested by neil magny

UFC 300 : Khaos vs Khamzat for the WW title

You have heard it here first

Well I think everyone has to get to a different place in themselves to do that professionally and it can't be a surprise that some can't always tell when to stop. That's why the rules are "keep fighting until the ref stops you" - because everyone's different and a handshake and normal human decency can't be relied upon to be on their minds at that particular time.

I'm sure if you ask him theoretically (like we're discussing here) he'd theoretically agree with you that he'd rather not be beating an unconscious opponent. But real life isn't theoretical or else I'd be a Marxist.
There are plenty of fighters who have not gone in for an unnecessary punches when they’ve seen the fighter is out cold. They could’ve gone in but they realized the fight is over.

He's the real holyfield. I know most people have only seen his 2 UFC fights. But all his fights before were against great competition. 1 fight was against a 3 time sambo champion. Another fight was against a guy that would be a top 10 UFC WW. He dominated all of them just the same showcasing his variety of skills. He showed things he hasn't shown in the UFC such as: scrambling, striking over an entire fight, his elusive striking defense, the guy's for real.

And that sometimes that might not work well for them. You gotta fight til the other guy is defeated, officially called by the ref!

Palhares vs Miller
Barry vs Kongo

This is the ufc, best organization in the world.. Still needs to prove himself after Edwards before you start talking about your wet fantasies of your favorite fighters
Same organization where Jorge (coming off a loss) and Nate Diaz (also coming off a loss) are fighting for a title ? Lol
Khazmat>ufc

You name me two out of how many? Plenty of walk-off knock outs or fighters stopped throwing when they’ve realized the guy could not possibly go on any longer. Yes, it is the refs duty but as a human being, something in your head should probably say, “this guy is clearly out, maybe I shouldn’t throw extra shots.”

He fought a bunch of cans before UFC.

I need to see him against someone legit before I'm on board the hype train.

Edwards is his first real test and I wouldn't be surprised by the upset.

It's best overall, but the UFC has only 3-4 other MWs that don't suck donkey balls.

Khamzat is a solid prospect and seems to have it all. But he just hasn’t beaten anybody of note yet. The hype is disproportionate to his accomplishments thus far. I’ll reserve judgment until after the Edwards fight. If he runs through him, hard to deny that he’s for real.
What do you expect Edwards to do that the others he fought didn't try?

How did the NBA know Jordan and Shaq, to name just two college players, to do well playing against men? It's almost as if we can't judge skill and talent.

are you implying he's on steroids?

ban for fighter bashing

I expect Edwards to do everything better than Khamzat’s previous opponents because he’s a better fighter, hence why he’s 10-2 in the premier organization, on a 7 fight win streak, and ranked #3 in the world. If Khamzat can do to Edwards what he did to the others, then he’s undeniably elite.

As for your second point, you can recognize talent. But that talent doesn’t always hold up when facing other elite, talented opponents. There’s been countless busts over the years in every sport with top tier prospects dominating at the college level/minor leagues then failing when going up against the elites.

I recognize Khamzat is clearly skilled but he hasn’t put his skills to the test against an elite fighter like Edwards yet and until he does, I’ll keep with a “wait and see” attitude. We’ve seen a lot of guys over the years run through low to mid level competition and fail against the best.
