Media Khamzat has no aura left.... Kamaru: You build him up, then you go in there and you go 'that guy wasn't special'

I’m not even talking about that, I constantly see fans say certain fighters have aura or that they lost their aura or some shit. I think it’s just the new dumb lingo the kids are using these days.
If by new dumb lingo you mean Latin then sure. A quick google shows this phrase being used in sports to describe MJ 20 years ago. The meaning has been in use in general for at least 100 years. Have you ever heard a phrase like "He has a certain air about him", it means the same thing.

I just explained what they are talking about. They aren't literally saying that they glow or something. This has been a common phrase in sports and combat sports for at least 50 years.

I think he's like Drax or something, can't understand things that aren't literal.

You may be right, but it’s worth noting that Jones was a Juco National Champ with a pending full-ride to Iowa State, which he had to turn down after getting his girlfriend pregnant. Essentially, he was on the same trajectory as DC, Cain and Brock who all did Juco stints before going D-1. Make no mistake, anyone who gets a full-ride offer to wrestle for a top 3 program is a championship caliber wrestler, so it doesn’t surprise me that he was able to neutralize a much older DC.

Yeah a lot of could have been, but still, it didn't happen, and if they would have had a freestyle wrestling match in 2015 when they fought, DC would have beaten him easily even if he was at least 7 years removed from his wrestling prime, especially under freestyle rules or greco rules. My point is that wrestling credentials per say don't mean that much in MMA, it's how you implement it that counts. We have seen plenty of pretty high level wrestlers get outwrestled in MMA :)

Is Kamaru dumb??? Lets be very clear here Burns is the guy that took the aura from Khamzat. Burns didnt get dominated in R1 as hard as all the others. He nearly knocked him out cold in R2. Traded with him pretty even in R3.

Burns was seconds away from getting finished in R1

Both Burns and Usman gave him a decent challenge. The Burns fight was a lot of fun. Back and forth war.

He's got skills, but definitely over hyped, particularly with the infrequency he fights. All the screaming of killing everyone, followed by crickets with his absence in the cage.

Are you serious? It's cause Usman was incredibly competitive with him with no training camp. Use your brain more.
So one of the best fighters of all-time was "competitive" against him but still lost after getting dominated 10-8 in R1... and that takes away from Khamzat's aura? Lol keep dreaming

You're hopeless. Usman came off the couch and fought Khamzat on 10 days notice and many people along with one of the judges scored it a draw. If you can't see how that has diminished Khamzat's hype you're an idiot.

If Khamzat comes in and destroys someone really good then everybody will anoint him again.

I get what they mean when they say it, I just wonder why the term has become so popular among MMA fans in the last like month.

I honestly think Burns was closer to getting finished in rd3. There was a brief moment in the last round where Burns was wilting up against the cage and Chimaev was pouring it on very Diaz-esque but didn't have good enough shot selection to seal the deal.
