Media Khamzat gets swarmed and ragdolled by a dagestani wrestler half his size, Is this how a potential Islam/Khamzat fight plays out?

Razambek Zhamalov is listed at 5'7" so pretty short but he competes at 74 kg, which is 163 lbs. I'm sure he has to cut to get to that so he's probably 175-180 in the video and is an absolute unit. Obviously smaller than Khamzat but not exactly half his size.

Goes back to the idea that there are levels to these sports. McGregor might have been one of the best strikers in the sport but an older and smaller Mayweather absolutely clowned him in boxing. The only well known MMA guys I can think of that can still hang at the highest levels of wrestling are Gable Stevenson and Bo Nickal and even they'd need to go back to straight wrestling training to hang with the best.

Calling Gable Stevenson an MMA guy is being very nice.

This says nothing to me, plus you got to remember that dude has the lower center of gravity. So he it's harder to put him down. But anyways it doesn't expose or reveal anything at all about Khamzat abilities or lack of it.

Khabib and Islam both got taken down by Ali Bagov. Islam got his arm ripped off lmao. Khabib was also taken down once or twice by Abel Trujillo and theres no footage of Khabib vs Eldar Eldarov but he likely took Khabib down too. Islam was taken down by Egoyan too, whos a Sambo champ himself. These guys didnt fight a lot of good wrestlers but if they did, their careers would have looked different. I mean best wrestler Khabib faced was Tibau, best wrestler Islam faced was Arman and they both got taken down and Khabib arguably lost, Islam won a very close decisions vs a 22 year old that took the fight on 2-3 weeks notice in his UFC debut.
So getting taken down=lost fight for Khabib&Islam?

That's Razambek Zhamalov, a 2024 Olympic gold medalist in Freestyle at 74kg.
He doesn’t even have to be that guy. There are plenty of random actual wrestlers in Dagestan that would ragdoll Khabib and Islam.

People have a really hard time fathoming that the "aspects of MMA" are not the same as the other sports are. So if Merab outwrestles Cejudo in MMA, theres probably a lot of people who'd think Merab is a better freestyle wrestler. A lot of fans really do think Khamzat would run through the US Olympic trials in freestyle.
It’s not Khamzat fans. Khamzat fans know if he was really like that he probably would have been in th Olympics. It’s Khabib and Islam fans… For some reason, they think those guys are God’s of wrestling. They’re not even wrestlers.

Khabib gets taken down he either gets back up in 20 seconds or he's going to sub you

very dangerous off his back

Thats the combat sambo mentality. Never accept being on your back

it's training

you have no idea what they're training

you don't know how tired either guy is

you don't even know who the guy is he is wrestling, obviously many people can destroy Islam in pure wrestling. Islam is not exactly an Olympian
Yeah, I don’t even like Chimaev, but it’s exactly like this guy just said, 10 random seconds of training footage means virtually nothing.

1. Rage bait
2. This video is like a year old
3. Dude wrestling has Olympic pedigree

Fans happy with Khamzat working Jon Jones whilst playing in the street --

but not some small dude handling Khamzat quite easily in a gym scramble?
