Like, I get everything about Anderson Silva. I don't need anyone to tell me anything about him. I am well aware of exactly how good he is and well aware of exactly what were his struggles.

Just because he's an all-time great, one of the greatest of all-time, doesn't mean someone new can't come along that may be able to beat them. Do I think Anderson Silva has no chance of winning? No, that's silly. I also, at no point said Anderson Silva had no chance. I said Khamzat is a horrible matchup and I absolutely 100% would pick him to beat him versus any Anderson Silva there ever was but that doesn't mean that Silva couldn't or wouldn't win. I've been wrong plenty of times. People are allowed to say prime Anderson Silva would lose to someone. He didn't beat every fighter in MMA history during his run.
 
Khamzat has the best chance of anyone but still prime Silva wouldnt be a guaranteed win just like chael wasnt even after 5 rounds of dominance.

my brother The speed of Khamzat's shoot and Maia show plod are not even in the same atmosphere. Neither ANderson nor anyone he ever faced are half the athletes Khamzat is(raw strength and speed) Silva gets his neck wringed and subbed similar to Hollande

Silva is what a 3rd degree BJJ black belt? The only person as good at BJJ that Chimmy has fought is Burns (who is better), and Chimmy didn't want any of that on the ground.
Obviously vs Silva, standing up wouldn't be a good option for him- and Chimmy is a favorite on the ground. But Silva is very dangerous there, and would present problems for Chimaev on the ground.

My view is that Chimaev is a favorite vs Silva. Sports evolve, and Chimaev's wrestling would be a big problem for Silva. But to act like it wouldn't be an interesting fight or that Spider wouldn't present threats is also ridiculous

Silva also could finish it before a TD gets put on him, not likely but possible.
 
People overestimating how hard it is to sub someone while on the ground. Almost every elite fighter knows proper sub defense these days. Chimaev wins 9/10. The 1 time is Anderson landing a KO blow before getting taken down
 
that narrative is getting old already. sonnen is the only one who was able to do it to him and he got annihilated in the rematch. a lot of the noobs probably don't realize that silva faced a ton of great grapplers (hendo, okami) and ground guys (maia, leites) and made them all look silly. it's not just about TDs and TDD, his striking kept everyone so thoroughly off balance that you couldn't get your own game going. it's stupidly facile to suggest that khazmat would just waltz in and tackle him and that would be it.
 
No not easily. We're getting carried away with Khamzat's performance and dismissing how good prime Anderson Silva was.

Anderson would get smoked by Luke rockhold, Yoel romero and Khamzat. Those are just bad match ups for him

this a is a completely misleading understatement. Chael took anderson silva down AT WILL in both fights with great success. Khamzat would 100% take anderson down and he would never ever get up.

I tend to agree. Anderson is the most accomplished MW's we've ever seen but the holes in his wrestling game leave him tailor made to get rolled by a guy like khamzat.

And ive been watching this since ufc 1

Maybe a boring ud, but AS was as crafty as they come, so im not sure.
 
Khamzat wins Silva 40/50.

Mma evolved.

Burns comparison is dumb, Khamzat ego got to him and he wanted to bang when his coaches told him not to. Also 170 drains him too much.

Nobody at MW Peak beats Khamzat. Only a few LHW can stop him. To name 1, Gustafsson which he admits losing to.

Chael shot pretty standard up the middle wrestling singles and doubles. This landed hin in full guard a lot.

Khamzat gets around to the backpack region as well as anyone I have ever seen. I'd put Aljo in the conversation but even he is not quite on Khamzats level.

Very very few submissions available from less than desirable positions.

No way. It would look like Mia vs Anderson. But the sport has evolved, so Id imagine Hamzat would have slightly more success than Mia.
 
I give it 70/30 Khamzat. You can't count out Prime Anderson. He might just knock you out with a front kick.
