This is the longest layoff of Khamzats career and he gets so much shit for it. Meanwhile Costa, his opponent, seemingly gets a pass for fighting once a year because people think he's funny on twitter.

Make it make sense

Because Khamzat is talked up on here as The Terminator, the guy who is going to kill everybody, and he very well might be that guy. Nobody takes Costa seriously though. Nobody has expectations for him.

We want to see Khamzat fight because we think he could be great. Meanwhile Costa will probably never get another title shot, so we're not that worried about him being inactive.

In another reality Till & Chimaev simultaneously hold 4 belts between the two of them, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight!

khamzat overestimates himself, burns was his best in and it could be either way.

Chimaev hasn't fought in a year; since the card he completely missed weight and destroyed. A lot of goofy entitlement with him. All the while Strickland has fought 4 times since then and made weight each time. STFU Khamzat. Earn your shot, bro.

Crazy how Khamzat got his initial fame by fighting so often and now he barely fights at all

It's going to be funny when Khamzat keeps winning and everyone here will pretend they knew he was good. Instead people are acting like he's a hype train that's untested. Pretty stupid poll results are basically even. I guarantee Khamzat would be an odds favorite over Strickland if they booked the fight next even if they skipped Costa matchup.
Opinions... we all have them.

Costa lost a kickboxing match at 205 to Vettori lol.

Vettori is a shitty blown up WW.
Costa also beat a 2019 version of Yoel who was still a dangerous fighter. And he actually engaged with him, unlike Izzy. It depends which version of Costa shows up. He's like Gastelum in that way.

He used to be pretty active, now he took time to bulk up, in order to go up, he should become active again.

If you're already making big misses at 170 because you're too large, you don't need 2 years to bulk up to 185.

I'll believe him being more active when I see it at this point.

Khamzat is only MMA combatant with a #bluecollarmindset which rivals that of Sean Tarzan. Thoughts of this battle give it to me excited!

Although Sean Tarzan is my all time #favorite champion, I fear Khamzat will unleash a #bluecollarfury unlike anything he has been seen (except when childhood).

Islam got one shotted. Keep on hugging though. Im okay with it.

See, that’s an example of a “whatsboutism.” Bringing up a different fighter, at a different weight class (who happens to be champion and top 3 p4p in the world) like it has anything to do with Chimaev. With every post, you come across dumber and dumber.

Yeah man, Burns sucks.

You do realize Khamzat is relatively inexperienced fighting top shelf pro fighters right? He fought wreckless against Burns which is why he ended up eating some hard shots. He also underestimated his own gnp and submission defense.

Khamzat barely used his main strength which is grappling and still beat the #2 ww in the world.

Last time he fought was a year ago, and he will fight in a month... <KhabibBS>
