This is the fight to make if you need neither story line to make any sense whatsoever.
Khamzat was the most hyped prospect I've ever seen and has fallen off completely with his inability to fight anywhere but the middle east, pulling out of the few fights he can have, and had his lungs and cardio destroyed by Covid. Still he is fighting people out of their weight classes in meaningless fights and demanding title shots. He's not going back to 170, so there's 0 part of this that moves him forward. He does what, beats the guy who already lost multiple times to his last opponent, neither of whom fight in his actual weight class?
Colby hasn't beaten anyone relevant to MMA for 5 entire years, is 2-3 (with wins being shot fighters already on multiple fight losing streaks before facing Colby), and just looked about as good as Chuck Liddell when he fought Tito for the third time. Colby is hoping he can survive rounds 1-2 and then cardio Khamzat to death to claim any level of relevancy again and hopefully parlay that into a completely unnecessary 4th title shot.
Give Khamzat a top 5 MW, and give Colby literally anyone with an actual ranking on the way up since his top 5 ranking is one of the biggest jokes in MMA.
