In Islam, ʿĪsā ibn Maryam (Arabic: عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ‎, lit. 'Jesus, son of Mary'), or Jesus, is the penultimate prophet and messenger of God (Allah) and the Messiah, who was sent to guide the Children of Israel with a new revelation: Injīl (Arabic for "gospel").[1][2]
He is thus one of the most mentioned people in the Quran by reference; 25 times by the name Isa, third-person 48 times, first-person 35 times, and the rest as titles and attributes.
In Islam, Jesus is believed to have been the precursor to the Islamic prophet Muhammad
Like all prophets in Islam, Jesus is also called a Muslim, as he preached that his followers should adopt the "straight path
Lol Santa Claus isn’t about Jesus though. Santa Claus literally means Saint Claus which is Saint Nicholas

This isn't bad...now if he dressed up like Jesus bearing a cross ..then we can talk

Muslims love Jesus? Please elaborate. Genuinely curiously.
Muslims consider Jesus to have been a prophet for his era. Mohammed was the last prophet and so they follow his teachings, but that doesn't discount the prophets before him. They also accept the Old Testament prophets and stories.

Really, Christianity and Islam are spin-offs of Judaism, which in itself is a combo of Zoroastrianism and the cult of Yahweh

This Sherdog history lesson is brought to by Corn Nuts

You have to love Khamzat, he really is the chosen one who will expose all the religious trolls who support fighters only because of their religious confession!

The first milestone was that all those fanatics will love Khamzat for what they hated about Connor exposing their real nature of hating Conor not because of his loud mouth behaviour but simply because he has a different religion and had a feud with one of their guys.

The second milestone is that they now start hating Hamza because he is not acting like a religious fanatic but actually like a normal guy. Now they will start calling him a traitor, someone without backbone, and so on, showing their real face of hate towards everyone and everything which differs from them and who doesnt share the same hate.

I wonder which the third milestone will be from the Savior!

To even think one is "chosen" or "god's chosen" or "savior" is ignorant. No god would accept one over the other.

Little humans and their fictional thoughts.

Run along and play in the sandbox.

Santa means saint in Spanish. And Claus is a German form of Nicholas. So his name is Saint Nicholas
That's great. But it was a German pagan concept which has been coopted by Christianity, so again, it's not actually Christian.

Christianity.. Catholicism ..judaism and muslim faith are just the same story told from a particular factions point of view...in the end there is Only One GOD among them...

Muslim and jewish people both believe there Gods people because of the story of Abraham...christianity and catholics faiths follow that of Jewish ideals in this case because Jesus himself was jewish...

Its really just an elaborate version of broken telephone, with a common goal in the end

God is GOOD

Lol I agree the idea of a wanderer delivering gifts is a form of Odin, but the guy’s name is literally from the Catholic/Orthodox tradition so it is Christian.

So if we take a non-Christian person and give them a Christian name, now they're Christian? Is that how it works? Cause I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

St. Nicholas was a real person though, there are just parallels to germanic holidays and Odin. Should Gandalf be called Odin in The Lord of the Rings because they are “the same person”?

Yeah, the idea of a "Christian" or "Muslim" name is a myth. Certain "Jewish names" might have been a thing at one point but that was pre circa 1 AD.

The only Christian name is the word Christian itself, although even that is debatable since Christos just means 'Anointed' in Greek.

Arab Christians have Arabic names (many have adopted French names as well, but that is a relatively recent trend). Most Christian names are either Biblical names or secular European names.

When Westerners or South Asians convert to Islam there's this weird dogma that they need Arabic names. Yet, there's plenty of Turkic, Iranic, Indonesian and Africans with non-Arabic names. Are they non-Muslim?

Pre-Islamic Arabs who were Christians and pagans also had Arabic names. It doesn't even mean anything.

The word "Isa" is also derived from the Greek "Iesous". Many Arabic words come from ancient Greek. Dinar (Latin), Dirham (Greek), Lira (Latin) and Qanoon (Greek) are the most obvious examples in Islamic scripture.

Jesus (Gee-juz in English), Jesus (Hey-sus in Spanish), Jesus (Jhe-sus in Portuguese), and Yesusi (Amharic) all come from the Greek "Iesous" which is a corruption of the Hebrew "Yeshua".

In Latin the J is pronounced like a Y, and U is a Ü.

Joseph = Yoseph
Jesus = Iesous
Joshua = Yoshua
Jacob = Yacob

These are all botched misnomers in English. And you actually have morons debating about whether Jesus is the same as Isa or not.

You are correct that Christmas and Easter holidays take a lot from pagan Roman and pagan Northern European religions or traditions.

Even the Christmas tree (Northern European) and Eastern eggs (Roman) borrowed from them.

Well technically Muslims don't do Christmas but they do love Jesus so shit like this is probably fair game in 2020
I have a friend who does xmass aswell. Muslim . Got death thr wa std for posting a hit like this.

No. Salah and ozil are being heavily criticised online right now for even wishing people Merry Christmas.
Its quite strange

To my knowledge Ozil

Damn dude STDs for celebrating Christmas, tough break

I feel like Salah and Ozil tend to display their religion more than others, so people are probably a little more polarized by their behaviors/beliefs. I remember reading stuff about Ramadan during international tournaments and for whatever reason they'd always talk about Ozil and Salah lol
