khamzat bench press 110lbs dumbbells casually

Benching 50KGs in any form is fucking impressive. You guys need to look up the strength of the average man, it's abysmal. This is 5-10% of the entire world area here. and MM fighters aren't really known for their strength, so this does make Zat look very impressive. Especially for a lanklet.

That said, are we sure these aren't 50 LBS dumbbells? They easily could be.
Nah, no way Khamzat would struggle like that with 50lbs only. That's my kind of weight, and I'm admittedly pretty damn weak these days.

That's pretty good considering MMA fighters have to worry far more about muscular endurance than maximal strength, and that he's very ecto looking. If he looked like Ken Shamrock in his prime then sure I wouldn't be surprised at all.

But yeah every time these threads come out, there are people who say it's not impressive because there are many that focus specifically on getting their weights higher and can lift more than someone that has to focus on martial arts technique, striking, grappling, the transitions between them, cardio endurance, muscular endurance....

I'm fairly sure the 50 on the sides of those dumbbells is indicating pounds judging from the size of them. The 40 kg dumbbells in gyms are a lot bigger than the ones he is holding.
that's not 50 pounds. i can bench 50lbs dumbbells for 20 reps super fast without breaking a sweat

also non american gyms all around the world use kgs, not lbs

GSP was lifting 120 lbs at one point. 110 lb db presses is an intermediate lift at his weight lol. I guess it's only impressive if you don't actually lift weights for any amount of appreciable time

I'm glad he's lifting tho. A lot of mma fighters and their coaches have BS theories about strength training. Ie it makes you slow, inflexible and doesn't help much in MMA. Even GSP was convinced not to lift weights anymore. Islam coach has said the same thing. I disagree with them. Look at Jon Jones.

if you can press 110 lb dumbbells alternating for reps
you can bench 315 on barbell
that's impressive for anyone who's not a bodybuilder/powerlifter, guy got retard strength

lol i've seen high school kids in gym press more than 50lbs on flat bench
non american gyms use kgs

Ok...ive seen jacked guys lifting 45lbs ..

Those look like 50lb dumbbells who said he's not in America or using pounds...there's no proof of this being 50 kgs..

If you look at the size of the dumbbell 110 lb dumbbell is huge ..

Doesnt look like hes lifting this...50lbs for one arm reps ...after several other exercises and prepping for a fight for stamina makes more sense anyways then just ego lifting 110lbs...

Im not knocking his training...just saying it aint 110lbs

The weights are labeled 50, although it could be kilos.

It isn't exactly a pause rep. He is keeping that dumbbell down as a counter weight. It allows him to be stable enough to press the weight. He doesn't have the strength to press it up if his other hand was up. Seriously go try it in a gym. One variation allows you to explode while the other doesn't.

I am not trying to curse the man but he has amazing joint flexibility/strength to train like this.
I'll take your word for it since I've never tried those. I've always done the regular dumbbell press, if anything.

Ermm..

Pretty sure those are 50lbs dumbells...not 110lbs...

The ones at my gym are much bigger/longer then those lol ..
the brand of the dumbell PreCor only uses KG not lbs so it has to be 50 kg, and it wouldn't make much sense for him to struggle with 50 pound dumbells, I don't struggle with them and I'm not a freak athlete

You're actually being serious?

So silly every time.

"I'm a fat and stubby 220lbs guy who only does strength training and I have optimized my programs for the last 8 years in order to press the most amount of weight and I don't think 110lbs is anything!!"

All you have to do is go to the gym and see how many people are pressing 110lbs DBs, and how many of them have Khamzat's build...

Id have to research that brand but if true then i guess it is 50kg...

That said , you can absolutely be struggling with 50lbs .. it depends on what hes done already before this exercise... Theres plenty of research that backs low weight high rep for both muscle growth and physical endurance which is important for fighters ..

But ya...they look small to me to be 110lbs but your the only who supplied some actual evidence or possible explanation so thanks
