Khamzat beats any MW from any era

Nah, his fight against Usman shows he lacks cardio and has no striking. Even DDP, who was completely overmatched, ended up having chances almost sunk in a rear naked choke vs Khamzat when he gassed in round 5.

Khamzat would have zero chance against wrestlers that can actually defend his takedowns, including the "prime" versions of Chael Sonnen, Yoel Romero, Dan Henderson, Chris Weidman, etc.

*Used to lack cardio. Past tense.

Also, Khamzat *USED to have a torn ligament in his right hand when he fought Usman. All that "lacking cardio" and a torn ligament and Khamzat STILL secured a 3rd round takedown vs Usman, who had only been taken down ONCE in his entire career prior to fighting him.

IMO Khamzat is on EPO due to his association with Dillashaw. That's my opinion, not everyone will agree with me. I just find the timing extremely suspicious.

I know you are a BJJ guy... curious as to how much you enjoyed that fight.

Basically what I'm saying is, ... is there a level where grappling dominance enters the "Schaub shutdown" realm for even BJJ enthusiasts... or does that level of masterful dominance continue to wow?

And I'll throw my cards on the table for me it was like

Jesus stop playing with your food and end this shit
I think DDP was just good enough to not get stopped. He really never gave up on any positions, even in crucifix he was constantly bucking and hiding his head. He's an absolute gorilla of a man and was strong enough to not get TKOd or get his arm isolated and submitted from there like so many others do. His neck is also incredibly thick and he was defending the hooks and the choke well, it's tough to finish guys like that. I do think Khamzat wanted the finish, but didn't want to risk going all in on one attempt, risk losing it, burning his arms or legs out, and then being gassed late.
I totally agree that the fight wasn't super exciting from an entertainment perspective, but I don't blame anyone for that, it's just one of those things. If you do want to blame anyone though, I would blame DDP more than Khamzat since his answers to Khamzats grappling seemed so limited.

My biggest takeaway from that fight was "welp, good luck beating that mother fucker" lol.

Edit: also I thought DDP was going to win and was rooting for him.

“Was having his way with Anderson” is crazy. People really just say anything on here.
I'm not a conspiracy guy whatsoever, but I recently re-watched that fight and I fully believe that it was a staged fight.

Well, barely any fighters ever pop for EPO, because it's only detectable for something like a few days to a week max. If you think TJ was one of the only MMA fighters ever using EPO, then you're just kidding yourself.

You sound very upset that DDP lost. I think you're in the bargaining/anger stage of grief.

Awesome. Appreciate the honest answer.

Solid assessment.

The Khamzat that fought DDP beats any version of Anderson Silva for sure. Can’t really say the same with teh Chris though.

He has impressed me for a while now. Rankings are silly but he's a problem for everyone.

There has to be MWs with better TDD than DDP

Hell, Brad Tavares had DDP in all kinds of trouble in the first round. It wasn’t until a quick knee in close-quarters that busted up Brads face when the fight started to turn in favor of Dricus

As much of a BEAST Dricus is, I don’t think he was the stiffest test to Khamzat when talking all-time MWs

Styles make fights so its very hard to pin-point who could pose the most problems

Something tells me it would be a random set of skills to nulify Khamzats approach, a guy like a Tim Boetch or sumn

Very funny, but Khamzat wouldn't have a chance against Anderson. Anderson is not just going to lay there like a dead fish, DDP, and my ex-gf.

Anderson is like my new gf, always bobbing, moving, bucking, giving up the back if it comes down to that, and capable of finishing from every position.
