Khabibs top 15 GOAT list

No Volk is egregious imo. Solid list some of the order is off imo but most of the right names are on there

No Big Nog is a shocker, rest of the list is more or less okay. I'd look to find a way to fit in Bas Rutten and Wanderlai. I'd also put Volk in over Edgar

I think the rule with Royce is you have him top 5 alongside Jones, GSP, Fedor, Silva or not at all. Putting him at 11 just seems arbitrary.

You either accept that he was the original king of the sport with certain accomplishments that will never be rivalled.

Or you accept that he fought in the dark ages against terrible competition using his own incredibly limited skillset.

Either is a valid opinion. What doesn't seem to be valid is just shoving him in between random guys who were much better than him but will also never achieve the same level of historical importance or greatness.

Kind of weird to see Usman on there but then I thought about it and it makes sense. List overall looks pretty solid, can't really complain about much if anything on there. Can't think of anyone off the top of my head that is missing or doesn't belong and also the order is solid too. Really nothing to complain about lol

For me it's some combination of Jones, Silva, and GSP.

I never considered Jones is good, because he always stayed in the same weight class, and never faced anyone bigger than him. That changed with his knockout of Gane.

Still, neither Jones nor GSP had the magic of Anderson Silva.

Silva could literally knock people out with one shot. Put his hands down, make the miss, and knock them out with one shot.

So as far as I'm concerned, I think prime Anderson Silva is the GOAT – because he achieved a level of excellence neither Jones nor GSP ever did. GSP and Jones had to work for all their wins. They had talent, but not that kind of magic, IMO

I agree, and TBH I dont think theres much point of listing anybody after these guys.

in any other sport scumbags who used steroids would lose their reputation forever. only people involved in mma dont have an iq high enough to draw that conclusion so it seems. any list containing jon jones will NEVER be valid

1st 4 picks are pretty solid but starts to get pretty rocky after that. Cormier is obviously his good buddy but should not be that high, imo shouldn't even make the list but that doesn't meab he wasn't really good.

Cejudo is another one, I feel like he included him because what he did was similar to DC (also I know they have trained together) Henry won belts in 2 divisions yes but the DJ win is arguable, Defense was vs a deflated TJ. Then at 135 the belt was vacant so he beat Marlon then defended against Cruz who hadn't fought in 4 years and was coming off a loss. Winning belts in 2 weight classes is impressive but for me the standard is title defenses/win streak/quality of opponents.

All solid names on his list for sure tho.

It's an alright list his 1-4 is solid. I'd say it's more like Fedor 1a. Jones 1b.

Interesting he didn't have Volkanovski, but he has Usman.

Fucking DC bro... <45>

People are more inclined to praise someone that does not praise himself.

In other words, claiming to be the GOAT is strategy to convince most you're not.

Ehh, I understand the whole humble perspective.
But a mature and logical person would be able to rank themselves truthfully from a non bias pov.
They can read their own stats.
