Khabib's Resume

Who else in MMA is 27-0? Nobody.

It's the most perfect record in MMA.

Georges' 26-2 is much more impressive considering he fought in 15 title fights, over half his career was against top contenders in 5 round pressure cooker main events. To put it more into perspective, GSP has currently won more consecutive UFC fights than Khabib, 13 to 11, but 11 of GSP's fights in that 13 fight run were title fights. I'm not trying to knock Khabib, he's incredible, but his 27-0 is nowhere close to GSP's 26-2. Not in terms of difficulty or accolade.

Dude fights on average once a year. Plus he has had all kinds of difficilty making the weight.

Hes got maybe 1 more on him before he retires.

He has bigger names but it's still a record with losses on it.

I would rather be 27-0, and have to opportunity to flesh out my record with bigger names in the future.

Has there ever been a UFC Champion who won the belt by beating somebody who wasn’t even ranked in the top 10???

Khabib has been ranked in the top 10 for 5 years(2013).

Conor Did this in 3.5 years.

And my point isn’t to deminish Khabib’s ability. He is obviously an amazing fighter. I have never said that he wasn’t. I am a fan of his.

But Khabib has been ranked in the top 10 since 2013. Why hasn’t he fought more quality opponents??? The inability of his fans to admit this fact, is the reason that I made this thread.

Not his fault that Tony tore his knee apart in a TV studio the night before the fight.

Maybe Tony should stop walking around with his sunglasses on in dark studio's like an idiot.

No he doesn't. Not even close.

Several losses including to MJ ffs, who Khabib destroyed.

Best win is Kevin Lee, who is not even Iaquinta tier.

Compared to Khabib beating the p4p #2.

Outside of Barboza and RDA, who they both destroyed, who the fuck has Tony beat? Pettis?

Do you actually believe Conor was the #2 P4P MMArtist when Khabib beat him? How was he above DC, Woodley, MM, Tony, Whittaker, Max, Cejudo, etc.

Pettis is a former champ and a regular in the top 10. Tony has wins against higher ranked opponents. I don't see the relevance of bringing up the MJ loss that happened 6.5 years ago. Lol.

Neither of them would beat Aldo, one of them lost to Alvarez who Conor starched, so nope.

And the one beat Diaz easily without any challenage - a guy that made Conor tap and where Conor could only barely win the rematch (I think only major decision in an main event in the UFC for 10 years). So if RDA easily beats Nate and Conor is 1-1 vs Diaz whereas the 2nd bout was also almost a loss, we could argue that RDA might have a realistic chance against Conor? The same with Barboza. But maybe both would lose vs. Aldo. Styles make fights in the end.

Khabib has just barely lost 1 single round in his entire career. He dominates all his opponents and has never been hurt or looked battered and bruised like other supposed 'Goats'.

GSP, EyePoker, DC, Spider have all either lost, been hurt, battered & bruised, KO'd, hurt, won controversial decisions etc...

When you consider all of that Khabib is all by himself, the most dominant fighter in MMA history.

In the last 5 years, Khabib's opponents are 43-30

Conor McGregor
8-2 in the last 5 years. His best win. But Connor is a striker and hadn't fought in 2 years.

Al Iaquinta
7-2 in the last 5 years. But his best win was against a 22 year old Kevin Lee(in his UFC debut).

Edson Barboza
7-5 in the last 5 years.

Michael Johnson

6-5 in the last 5 years.

Darrell Horcher

2-3 in the last 5 years. He has only won 1 fight since he fought Khabib.

Rafael dos Anjos

8-5 in the last 5 years. This is a great win. He is an incredible fighter.

Pat Healy

5-8 in the last 5 years. He lost his next 3 fights after he fought Khabib and was cut from the UFC.
so are you saying khabib is not good? I dont see what you're doing here , just discrediting his wins to be honest. Pretty sure all of them were on win streaks when they fought khabib

Bingo.

Exclude RDA? How? When they fought, RDA had not yet been a Champion, or fought in a Title fight.

Comparing him to Conor...

Khabib - Was the LW Champion when they fought.
Eddie Alvarez - Was the LW Champion they fought.
Nate Diaz - He had already fought BENDO for the LW Title.
Jose Aldo - Was the FW Champion
Chad Mendes - Interim FW Title Fight. And Chad had already fought Aldo for the FW Title.

It is not only who you fight, but when you fight them. It makes a big difference! Before he fought Conor, the biggest fight Khabib had ever been in, was against Al Iaquinta(a guy who wasn't even ranked in the top 10).

I have said the same thing for Eddie Alvarez. Justin Gaethje has lost 2 out of his last 3 fights. But when Eddie fought Justin, he was undefeated. Anthony Pettis is 3-4 since he fought Eddie. But when they fought, Pettis had just lost the UFC LW Belt in his last fight, and was the # 1 ranked contender at LW. Gilbert has lost 5 out of his last 6 fights. But when he fought Gilbert, Melendez was ranked # 4, and had only lost 2 times(in Title fights) in the previous 6 years.

This thread was about people calling Khabib LW GOAT. Why would you compare someone with 2 fights at LW that Khabib just dominated?

Eh being undefeated is nice, but he's realistically beaten like 5 or 6 good fighters. And I don't give a damn, he lost that Tibau fight.

Can anybody show me at least 1 person online or real life who considers Khabib GOAT. Now even his fans do that. I am his fan. GOAT means of all time-where Fedors and other hall of famers live.

I think that Khabib haters actually themselves call him GOAT and then make threads how his resume is not qualifying him for GOAT status

You yourselves doing it and then disproving it. Bloody incels talking to themselves online. Get a life.

Khabibs resume is solid, not spectacular. Barboza, RDA, MJ, Conor and even Al are good, but not spectaluar. Even Conor's one is way above Khabi's-he fought Max, Aldo (one of the greatest), Eddie, Dustin, Nate etc.

Khabib however can have a good chance of becoming very close to GOAT in LW if he beats Tony, Dustin, maybe Conor Again, maybe Lee or somebody else like Justin.
