I think most of these people who downplay the virus do so because deep down they scared stupid and it's far easier believe its a conspiracy than face the reality we're all facing a possible death.

not at all...i see it as a religion...or propaganda...i think it's far easier to follow the crowd (e.g. the emperor's new clothes, the sky is falling, etc.) than to talk about "the elephant in the room"
