Khabib's best asset isn't technique its strength

His ability to stick to people, use of angles, destruction of posts and trips are what make him elite. Obviously being strong helps, but it's his technique that makes him feel even stronger.

195?

194**. There's a reason why he gets hospitalized cutting so much weight.

You do know that "walk around" weight isn't the weight you cut from, right? Khabib cuts from 175 or so, which is not abnormal or particularly high for the lightweight division.

And yet, you want him fighting guys who are cutting from 190+ because...

Well, no reason. You just don't like him. Guys like Usman are WAY bigger than Khabib.

There's a reason why Khabib almost dies cutting down to 155. It's because it's not his natural weight division. McGregor had to eat 24/7 to get up to 170 to fight Diaz at welterweight. Like it or not, but Khabib consistently fights guys with a smaller composition than him. A true champion will fight across multiple divisions and prove his abilities against men bigger and smaller than him.

Khabib missed weight once, 6 years ago, and was deemed unfit to continue by doctors two years ago.

He has never missed championship weight and has never been significantly larger than anyone he's fought.

You just dont like him. It's okay to admit that.

You have no proof that he'd have a tough time at 170.

Is the fact that he was hospitalised with kidney failure trying to make 155, yet still remains there not indicative of his fear to move up in class?

A huge weight cut is not a big advantage though. Try dehydrating 30 pounds and see how much you feel up to a fight. Rumble got his ass kicked by the little guys.

In the cage, absolutely nothing about his body/physique stands out.

Look at how big his neck and ears are. Are you telling me that decades of training and even wrestling a bear as a kid has no effect on his body?

Is it possible Khabib has a genetic advantage with extra veins in his arms for cardio?

Look at how big Khabib's hands are. His joints are thick. It looks like he even has some bruising at the base of his fingers.

Look at his shoulders. Are you trying to tell me that everyone at 155 pounds has the same exact strength as Khabib?

Everyone always mentions his technique which is no doubt next level but his style of grappling would not work if he wasn't so strong, probably why he refuses to move up to 170 since he would have no strength advantage there.
lol dustin just destroyed your thread mate ... :

and why the fuck khabib would move up ? the dude is a 155er, why the fuck usman or colby would move up to fight romero ?

Aslo NCAA Heavyweight Champion, with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

If strength = wins then this guy should have been world champ, but a fat Tim Sylvia shut him down.

Brock was very raw with jiu jitsu and striking when he started mma.

If I remember correctly, people like Chael Sonnen said Brock won the NCAA title mostly with raw strength instead of technique.

Khabib has the best of both worlds.

If you got a problem with him not moving up,then why aint anyone bitching, crying and making babies about woodley,or usman moving up to mw?

That happened a long time ago and rather indicated that he used to gain to much weight between fights back then. It's been widely publized that Khabib has since switched his approach and walks around much lighter than he used to.

If anything, you can knock Khabib for being unprofessional in terms of his diet and shape back in the day but he's dialed it in in recent years and has clearly shown that LW is his ideal weight class.

Funny how Khabib doesn't have curiosity too see how would he do at WW. Or how he doesn't get bored at LW ?

His physical strength came from his technical expertise.

That is why most elite wrestlers are the most wirey bastards you'll ever meet.

That and motocross riders. Strong as fuck

In my opinion motocross is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. The athletes in motocross are very underrated.

Oh please, don't take my words out of context. Would it make you feel better if I said that nothing about his body stands out in comparison to some welterweights? My whole point was that as long as he comfortably makes weight (he cut from ~172lbs which is average, isn't it?), people should stop insisting that he move up and/or coming up with silly explanations on why he dominates competition. Obviously a lifetime of wrestling and continuous improvement. MMA is not a strength competition. What about his cardio, huh? I'd say it's "good enough" to go 5 rounds imposing his gameplan. Aren't there many other fighters praised almost exclusively for their superhigh output/gas tank? Not so long ago, people have been saying that Khabibs striking was abysmal and yet, he remains unscathed. Not too shabby for a sambo guy fighting arguably superior/vastly more experienced strikers don't you think? If you're going to talk about cardio/strength "advantages" - point your fingers at freaking PED users.
