I've seen people on this forum constantly say Oliveira would get destroyed by Khabib like it's set in stone or something. While I don't think Oliveira would destroy Khabib either I would favor him in a match up. Going through Khabib's resumé he didn't really outgrapple any dangerous ground specialists at all. The best grapplers he fought were Tibau and RDA both survived and even gave him difficulty, Charles is much more lethal on the ground than either. Looking back at his performances against Dustin and Justin they don't look that special when you consider that Oliveira made FAR easier work of them than Khabib did. And before you mention that Felder beat Oliveira and finished him on the ground, Felder is physically built differently than Khabib is and his body type is much harder to lock in submissions against. Khabib got Guillotined by Dustin who had nothing for Oliveira in the grappling. This isn't MMAth but when comparing Khabib's only path to victory is to wrestle a dangerous, lanky, explosive BJJ specialist with a fast lethal guard it looks bad for him. We've never seen Khabib take on an opponent anything like Charles. The closest thing were the canceled match ups against Tony and Cerrone.

It's an interesting style matchup for sure. We'll get a sneak peak to what would possibly happen when Charles fights Khabib-light..

Assuming he beats Dariush..

How many threads of these are we going to get? lol I'm curious to see what is said if charles loses to islam?

The guy is retired.

I dont see Khabib having much of a chance against someone who knows how to grapple. I think Oliveira would either sub or KO him 10 times out of 10.

loud mouth khabib would have a difficult match against charles, its a fascinating match with khabib as the favorite, but charles is dangerous af on the ground and he hits like a truck. Khabib has a great chance of losing. Charles could hurt him on the feet and submit him easy. if charles wins against makachev in dominant fashion he will be the favorite against khabib.

Islam beating Charles would be more telling than Charles beating him. I mean is Islam runs through Charles, it’d be hard to make an argument that Charles would have beat Khabib. But Charles beating Islam still doesn’t mean he’s best Khabib.

I really cant imagine khabib losing that fight, it would be cool to see his top pressure style against a bjj guy of the caliber of oliveira, its another version of askren vs maia although khabib is much more dangerous and is a complete monster grappler unlike askren

No matter the result after Oliviera/Makachev, alot of threads will be bumped lol.
true unfortunately. Fans are fickle so whatever the outcome is, someone is going to bring something up. Ngl, if it was two years ago, I'd be on this and making a thread like this but the guy been retired for almost two years. I think these types of threads can go to rest.

I'm not convinced Oliveira is dangerous off his back. Not really sure why his opponents have been terrified of it. The times he was defensive grappling he's done poorly. Even his offensive BJJ comes off someone being rocked typically.

Yeah, I’m sure Khabib would just stand there like a telephone pole while Oliveira calmly takes control of the situation lol. What the hell was Poirier doing there? Khabib would’ve clinched and taken Olives for a ride. Actually no, Khabib wouldn’t have to do that because Charles wouldn’t be stupid enough to clinch with him.

Charles made "far easier work" of Justin and Dustin? He almost got knocked out in both of those fights you dumb fuck
