Nope, neither were per the Sherdog rankings at the time of the fights. And you missed the point. This was a response to someone trying to bash Tony Ferguson using the same metrics.
With an equally dumb threadHe has 5 according to the UFC rankings but I know you’re choosing those to make your point. I got your point, you got mad some other idiot made a dumb thread so decided to try to bash another fighter in response.
With an equally dumb thread

Of course they were top 5 they were interim champsNot that I care, but it's a response to this rather shoddy thread:
Tony Ferguson has ONE top-5 win in the UFC | Sherdog Forums | UFC, MMA & Boxing Discussion
Khabib only has two Top 5 wins: Poirier and Gaethje. I haven't even confirmed those guys were Top 5 at the time, but I'm pretty confident they were. As for other potential Top 5 opponents:
I had all the links then closed my post browser window by mistake. Others are welcome to double-check me. Bottom line: the guy many consider the LW GOAT has a total of one more whopping Top 5 win than Tony Ferguson does. So maybe that stat isn't so damning after all.
- Conor dropped out of the rankings before fighting Khabib after a 2-year layoff and only one LW fight
- RDA was #10 before he fought Khabib in 2014
- Al Iaquinta wasn't Top 5 and I don't think even Top 10 when he fought Khabib
The point here isn't to bash Khabib, but rather to bash cherry-picked data.
Khabib is the BOAT lw, but BJ is still the GOAT LW the way i see it.Khabib might be GOAT in terms of his grappling skill. But I can't rate him as one of the GOATS as there was still many contenders out there he never faced and with that comes questions. What ifs and doubts. A guy like Jon Jones or GSP answered those questions. But with Khabib too many unanswered questions.
Khabib never fought a dominant wrestler in MMA. Well except Tibau who made him look mediocre.
Khabib's offensive grappling is the best ever, but it's not hard to imagine a strong wrestler shutting his grappling down and winning the stand up.
A guy like Colby Covington would be a difficult match up. WW was home to strong wrestlers so no wonder Khabib wanted no part of it.
Khabib's streak would have continued for as long as he wanted to continue. Can't shit on a pious, honorable man for following the wishes of his widowed mother. Not that I care, but it's a response to this rather shoddy thread:

Lol. Connor being ranked at all after not fighting for two years just shows how corrupt the UFC is.McGregor was ranked #1, and he defeated 2 interim champs. Your thread is invalid.

I thought he was ranked 11I think Al was ten but UFC played with the rankings when they made the matchup. I can't remember the exact details though.
That's funny and false, but you knew that.Khabib was lucky because there were no good wrestler in his time but the real important thing is there were no good black guys in the LW, but in his reign WW always had black champs that's why he avoided it
