Max is not Conor, but this fight will tell us a lot about how Khabib is gonna handle the striking disadvantage.

Max seems to have an equal TDD as Conor. It's more interesting for Conor to watch that fight rather than Tony.

Max can't counter like Conor does , Conor catches sloppy khabib easily

- winning a belt by beating a 145'er
- not beating the current champ
- not beating the best other active LW who is also the interim champ


Good as he is, Khabib has one top 5 win ever at LW. And if he beats Max he will still have 1 top 5 LW win ever. I get that people are happy to see Conor go, but this is not a good way for that to happen.

There isn't one right now, which is exactly the point I am making. There is literally no genuine 155 contender available. Khabib can't beat the best because he wasn't there to beat them in the past and now they aren't there for him to beat.

I think the bigger point is that Conor was willing to fight Edgar on short notice but will not even entertain the thought of defending his own belt. lol and I love that soooo many people on the different sites I visit are calling him out for it.

3.5 weeks vs 6 days. Don't get me wrong, the Edgar thing was bullshit and he tried to leverage it so he deserves some flak, but there's no way he'd make 155 on six days notice, never mind the business reasons why the UFC wouldn't want it.

As per article on the front page, Dana is quoted as saying:

"I don't think Conor McGregor could make the weight on six days' notice. That's a tough weight cut for him," White told ESPN.com. "And Conor is not the guy I want to throw in as a late replacement fighter. He's a guy I want to make a fight with and have the right amount of time to promote the fight."

I don't think Conor was ever an option. A catchweight bout would make ZERO sense in this situation, and Conor wasn't going to make 155 with 6 days notice. I think based on Conor charging straight at RDA when he was looking like a destroyer of worlds, and challenging Nate to a rematch right after Nate humiliated him shows that actually Conor does believe he is the best fighter at 155. But sadly I also think he is all about the mooney, which means he will endlessly be negotiating and renegotiating with the UFC and will sit out until they pay him what he feels he is worth.

In that sense it's better he retires rather than sit out for 12 months after every fight waiting to have his pay jacked up another $10m.
