Max is not Conor, but this fight will tell us a lot about how Khabib is gonna handle the striking disadvantage.

Max seems to have an equal TDD as Conor. It's more interesting for Conor to watch that fight rather than Tony.
 
Max is there to lose so khabib can be handed a belt. Max has nothin to lose I’m sure there is a scripted ending here
 
He's had a striking disadvantage in more than on fight already. He is not a good striker.
 
Is there any word on what Max is getting paid? He better be getting the biggest check of his career. Forget PPV points. He deserves a million to show at least.

If he gets absolutely wasted then his belt would feel a little hollow(ay), he definitely has a lot to lose.

He fucked over the last PPV, and at the same time will likely not be fighting Frankie again. And his PPVs before that have been 100k flops!

Come to think of it, having a known flop like Holloway opposite Khabib isn't a great look at all! Khabib's stock just went down.

Honestly this isn't great for Khabib any way you slice it. If he wins and gets the 'real' LW belt (as Dana has said he will) it will be by beating a guy who hasn't fought at LW in nearly 7 years and without beating either the LW champ or the best other active LW fighter besides Khabib.


Dude is super talented but man....between the injuries and never fighting Ferguson - he cannot catch a break!

Hmm interesting point. Is this Max making up for his last pull out?

Either way Max has a ton of leverage. A one off million dollar check is pocket change for the UFC. They'd lose alot more money if he didn't take the fight.

And 6 days notice against the most feared guy in the LW division. If he makes it to the cage then Max would have more than made up for dropping out of his last fight against Frankie.

I can guarantee you anybody who's tuning in...isn't tuning in to watch Khabib fight MAX, they'll be tuning in just to see Khabib win the belt.

Max is completely replaceable.

Its true, the fight with Holloway will be undermined. Khabib is likely game to fight any WW from the Top 10, but they obviously can't make weight in 5 days. So it had to be someone from FW.

Does anyone want Eddie to fight for a LW belt again. I mean, it isn't likely at all but....what if he wins!? Conor vs Eddie II?

Obviously everyone wanted to see the original fight but I’m glad a fight is still taking place. You can’t fault Khabib for that

I don't know what this fight will tell you, striking wise, that Barbosa or Johnson hadn't already.

Also, Max will fight a giant. He has tiny muscles compared, and is shorter a couple of cm.

Max is pretty much fucked. Mad respect for the effort though.
 
Not a Conor fan(noted by the avatar). And am a fan of Khabib. That said, I think the Khabib vs Johnson fight spoke volumes on how Conor vs. Khabib will go. Conor by first round KO. Johnson was able to touch Khabib's chin with relative ease, even had him rocked for a minute. I see Tony being a better match up for Conor.

You are embarrassing yourself at this point.

Khabib's stock goes down by facing a known flop (who nobody even asked for). Its simple logic, the sales will suffer.
