Khabib managed only ONE takedown when Al was not against the cage

Khabib is terribly overrated, and when he actually fights somebody in the top ten, he will be put in his place, and also have his fake belt stripped.

I think you mean taken by a contender which means he has the balls to defend it. Much more respectable than just ducking and being stripped.

Yeah, It's a good thing he squeaked out a 50-43 decision.

Conor won't be difficult for Khabib to take down. He was a large fw but he is not a great big lw. Conor also has had gas tank issues in the past. Being under a grinder like Khabib for 2 rounds will be a lot more draining than throwing flashy kicks and big punches at Nate. If he does manage to explode as you say into a standing position then he will get picked up and slammed again. But hey, we will have to see. Conor does have a punchers chance for a few rounds.

Khabib will likely not be able to take Conor down until Conor gasses- like I said. Continuous movement in the center of the cage is the anti-Khabib. Regarding the gas tank- read what I wrote about the two rounds. I already accounted for that.

I rewatched the mcgregor alvarez fight today, conor loves to use the front kick to set up his hands, for a man like Khabib I think that kick looks very catchable.

Exactly right. Al came in low and solid and met him in the middle, making it harder to get the takedown. Al has the tools to do this because he can also wrestle and he is strong. When a guy does this though they have to sacrifice some mobility. Some of the higher stance shitty take down defence guys may not be able to pull it off as well as Al did.

I would not suggest running away as a strategy. When Barboza was in trouble he literally tried to run and couldn't shake him, lol. I am saying that the best strategy I have seen so far is what you have said and what Al did. It just needs to be done better and with a good gas tank or a lucky punch.

I actually think Tony is a way harder match up for Khabib than Conor.

Yeah Al kinda of showed the blueprint, I really wish he wasn't looking for single power shots so much, he landed a few body shots but didn't persist with them he also had Khabib backing up against the cage when he tried to offensively wrestle him but he was focused on the KO punch.

You need to stop posting

Unlike Maia, Khabib is more than willing, and capable, of wading through the punches to back his opponent against the fence if that's what it takes.[/QUOTE]

great game plan vs conor

I did, now read what I wrote and you will see that I disagree. We will see.

Something else to consider as well is the fact that it was a very stressful week for Khabib and others involved as well. We will see how it pans out I suppose but I am thinking that nobody was looking as good as they would under better circumstances.

Al tells Conor to take the center of the cage. Also was rewatching Conor vs mendes and Alvarez and conor commands the center. KO round1
