5 years younger maybe, but you take lessons from facing Khabib. I think it's a combination of Dustin improving and Islam not being quite as good . Dustin proved that he's still elite tonight even at 35.Khabib chocked out a 5 year younger version of Poirier in the 3rd round. Anyone who thinks Islam is in the same league as Khabib needs to go watch these fights back to back and you will notice they are levels apart.
For this fight but he had Arman for the Khabib fight. Apparently Gamrot is a better training partner, just not better enoughDustin worked with Gamrot
Not just that he was a brute, tough as fuck and nasty. Khabib had intangibles that made him great.Khabib is the best MMA grappler I've ever seen
Khabib had much better chain wrestling, cardio and top control. A true relentless style. Also like people said, isn't it in the realm of possibility that Dustin has gotten better with his ground game
Given that both Khabib and islam have completely different styles it's kind of a bad comparison
That one time that Dustin did the switch attempt and Khabib ended up in mount was semi-supernatural / he just floated into mount pretty much. Was surreal watching it real-time.No man, he hit the switch on Islam, he tried it twice against Khabib and got mounted
I'll have to watch that one again BUT I remember at the time thinking BSD was only getting his takedowns due to DP jumping gilly everytime.Nothing is funnier than the people pretending like Dustin didn't totally just get outwrestled by fucking BSD only 3 months ago.
You can't just admit that Islam looked like dogshit tonight.
