Khabib chocked out a 5 year younger version of Poirier in the 3rd round. Anyone who thinks Islam is in the same league as Khabib needs to go watch these fights back to back and you will notice they are levels apart.

5 years younger maybe, but you take lessons from facing Khabib. I think it's a combination of Dustin improving and Islam not being quite as good . Dustin proved that he's still elite tonight even at 35.

Not just that he was a brute, tough as fuck and nasty. Khabib had intangibles that made him great.

Khabib had much better chain wrestling, cardio and top control. A true relentless style. Also like people said, isn't it in the realm of possibility that Dustin has gotten better with his ground game

Given that both Khabib and islam have completely different styles it's kind of a bad comparison

Khabib has better ground and pound too IMO.

No man, he hit the switch on Islam, he tried it twice against Khabib and got mounted

That one time that Dustin did the switch attempt and Khabib ended up in mount was semi-supernatural / he just floated into mount pretty much. Was surreal watching it real-time.

Kebab is clearly better and tbh I can't believe anyone thought otherwise even before tonight.

Yes Makhachev's striking is a bit better, but Kebab's wrestling and grappling is a force of nature, clearly a level above. He also has a better chin and stamina. Without doubt a superior overall fighter, and harder to beat.
