That's quite a ridiculous statement. His standup is a bit strange, but he still wins most of the standup exchanges he's in. It's true that it's mainly because of the threat of the takedown, but he wins them nonetheless.

That being said, he has a HUGE advantage standing up against Ben. I'm incredibly interested to know whether or not he can stuff Ben's TD. I would LOVE to see that fight.

I would love to see Askren vs Khabib, that would be such a interesting fight. We never really seen anyone push the wrestling on Khabib and try to take him down a lot. Askren won't strike much he will just shoot on Khabib or try to grab him, it would be interesting. I'd like to see it.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's incredibly interesting, especially after Kebabs last fight.

Ironically, I think UFC Lombard at WW (where he was a very strong grappler...see his fight with Jake Shields) would be one of Askren's toughest fights...not now, but about 5 years ago. He was just an average MW in the UFC, though.

Come to think of it, 5 years ago Lombard, Maia and Palhares would all be very interesting/tough stylistic fights for the Funky One. Too bad he never came to the UFC.
