Khabib Had A Tough Weight Cut In Abu Dhabi (Behind The Scenes Footage )

Did Conor actually struggle to make weight or even miss weight? Would you accuse Dustin of the same? Khabib is definitely overly thicc for 155 with an over hyped body of work. Thought, he's still undoubtedly the best at 155 and would be as long as he continues to fight.
Not really

I think Khabibs issues with weight cutting may be more diet related.

Hes not any bigger than a lot of other big LW's.

The idea that hes this massively oversized LW has always been a myth.

It's harder for some people to cut weight genetically.

Others like Conor (FW) and Tibau were masters at it.

Hes 183 pounds naturaully .. Terrified of ww...

No kidding its tough doing losing 28 pounds in 2 weeks ufc weight cutting rules doesnt make any sence at all

To be 155 you must make weight a day before the fight.. Then you can be 170 180 in the ring
Walking around at 183 outside of camp means nothing.

That's just weight gained from going off diet.

Walk weight, fight camp weight and In cage weight, all different things.

For the 2nd Conor bout, he was 163 going into fight week.

oh yeah

hes fuckin enormous. Even tho he looks the same size as everyone he fights at 155

He doesn't really. It's all good though, bud.

Khabib looks sooo much thicker.

Justin even has to use dem thick ass soles and stand on his toes to overcome the physical presence of Khabib.

Besides Khabib's muscles, his skeleton; skull & joints are just so much thicker.

Usually it's pretty hard to accurately gauge weights based on pre fight pictures. Just because they're typically drawn out and hovering around the same weight.

I havent really examined / made cage comparisons lately but in the past Khabib has always seemed very similarly sized to his opponents.

Definitely a big LW, but isnt head and shoulders above the rest but any means. He's Conor sized.

Not really unfair, but also not really trying to challenge himself the most. Which if you're going to determine the best/GOAT definitely matters, IMO. He did fight at WW before the UFC, he could do it again in the UFC if he wanted and it wouldn't be unrealistic. Dude is still one of the all time greats regardless.

Dude has a weird build that doesn't really scream mass like a typical beach body would. It's kinda like Eddie Hall in his prime looked like a jacked manlet because of his proportions, but in reality he is 6'3". Khabib is thick in the places that makes him more compact, than it makes him look wide, like a thin waist would make you look, for example.

To me he hasn't really looked the same size as his opponents. I agree he is a big LW, but not in the way Costa is a big MW, for example. But he is big enough to be an average WW, but definitely not a big one obviously. But look at Burns and Kelvin. Khabib probably walks around heavier than Colby, too. So you don't really need to be a Costa like weight cutter to move up, either.

I don't think he is Conor size. Khabib couldn't have made 145 since he was a teen, probably. That suggests to me that he is inherently of a bigger frame skeletal & musculature wise than Conor. Not by a huge margin though, but still significantly enough.

Where were you when Conor was cutting to 145 ,boys?
And that’s the reason why he doesn’t do it anymore. I hate the Khabib nut huggers who say Khabib is an average sized LW. Wrong, he’s a huge LW. He should fight at WW but was afraid of the bigger guys who can wrestle.

I don't understand why they still do weight cutting. Super unnecessary torture. Fighters won't just stop trying to get an advantage. There are other ways for belts and agreements. But that's a fight against laziness.

ZZZZZZZ

Its not Khabib's job to find the hardest fight outside his weight class for him to win.

if he moved up,and lost what happens then?

"lol he shoulda never moved up lol never look him the same way again lmao"

If he lost, it meant he really tried to challenge himself and came up short. No shame in that. What haters would say shouldn't be a part of the equation, IMO.

hey if Khabib is bad for not losing a fight, any fight AHEM i mean moving up in weight, isnt it also sad that all these fans whining that he is so enormously huge that none of their fav 155 fighters can beat him. To me this is a very poor excuse, and maybe you should pick better fighters to be fans of.

How come Usman dont move up to MW? Why wont he challenge himself? Why doesnt Yan move up to FW? Why wont he challenge himself? etc

Cowards,ALL

Well jones is moving up to Hw to challenge himself. The talent pool at 155 isn’t very wrestler heavy, if khabib beats an Usman or Colby I’m impressed.

IF GSP didnt move up,he'd still be the GOAT.

He isn't bad for it. He is just risk averse. He is more concerned about the optics of his record, than the actual merits of challenging himself. That's his prerogative though. I don't fault people for being a fan of his and the way he chooses to run his career, but I also don't deny that it's limited in the way I described.

People also don't have to swap fighters they are a fan of, IMO. I am a fan of Khabib too, but I can still admit his shortcomings (at least in my eyes) despite being a fan. I am a fan of the majority of fighters though, so I don't go by a strict set of standards to root for someone.

I want you say WAR KHABIB,and then leave this criticism behind, and walk the path of the righteous man, untroubled by the unwashed haters who pick at perfection. They arent even 30 - 0 at monopoly
