Yeah some good points that some of the draft analysts have been making is that if you’re drafting a qb this late, it’s probably for a qb who can be a long term backup, or someone with elite traits you can develop into a starter. Sanders is pretty meh physically and doesn’t seem like he has the best personality for a team wanting to be patient, and who doesn’t view him as an immediate starter, or one at all.5'11" gabriel over shedeur....damn still funny
Can sanders transition to good teammate backup role anywhere? I doubt it.
It makes me feel a bit better about the Gabriel pick, it’s just the Browns probably could have gotten him later. They still have too many holes with impact players still available. So he’ll basically be the back up to whatever qb they draft high next year. I wanted Sanders, but from this perspective it makes sense. Gabriel does have some nice tools, he’s just short.
