Media Khabib’s Record

Conor beat Poirier with ease and another guy Conor beat with ease, Eddie Alvarez, murked Justin Gathje (2 of Khabibs best wins). Conor “sucks” according to khabib fans yet he’s Khabibs best win and that was Coke Conor coming off a boxing match that made him filthy rich. The rest of Khabibs career besides RDA, barbosa and MJ, are essentially nobodies. Conor is still going and already has better wins (Aldo, Alvarez) than khabib ever will.

side note: Conor was making champion weight at 145 while khabib was struggling or even missing weight in his own division of 155.
Thats why Conor hasn't won a fight at LW in over 4 years and was begging Daddy Dana to let him fight Diego Sanchez. LMAO you numbclit.

Closest thing to mma , training their entire life and how many top 10 ufc fighters have sambo base right now? Islam zero top 15 wins. Ububajar tapped to white belt euro. Sambo world champ KOd by wrestler khamzat in regionals
Almost every division has at least 1 sambo fighter in its top 15. Not bad for a niche sport with only a hand full of guys in the UFC.

tony being, tony.....a delusional dick
he really believes he can beat khabib. even if tony was in his best form, the hight of his prime.......khabib would still ragdoll him and finish him or give him an extensive beating. khabib would talk to him on the ground while beating him up/toying with him

we all saw that oliveira did to him......khabib would suplex city tony all day....beat him up, let him up again while still glued to him....throw him around again and rinse repeat the ground-and-pound-and-talkto tony.

Bad for a "sport' that is basically training mma your entire life. Whereas wrestling, also a niche sport, has numerous and doesn't involve striking or submission.

There are MAYBE 20 guys in the ufc with a sambo base and half of them are ranked. Yeah, truly terrible lol.

Id bet there are far more failed collegiate wrestlers by percentage than failed sambo fighters in the ufc. If the number of athletes in the ufc were the same across the board then the rankings would be full of nothing but sambo and wrestling champs

To be fair though, many guys lose to nobodies early in their career. For example, Conor lost to Artemij Sitenkov. Usman lost to Jose Caceres. It’s hard to be undefeated in mma. But it’s all irrelevant with Khabib, he went 13-0 in the UFC and beat numerous top 5 guys.

Sambo is the closest thing to MMA mate. Terrible comparison. Boxing and MMA have only one common thing.
Its closer but it's not the same, still lacks certain attacks, still limits ground fighting under specific restrictions, doesn't it require shin guards and helmets as well?

Not denying injuries and missing weight, but even taking that into account, I feel like he had to wait more than others for his first shot.
Khabib's 10th fight in the promotion was for a title, that's after he asked for a tune-up fight after being away for as long as he was due to injury. In a deep division where others could have received a shot over him.
Jones had to wait for 8 fights and he was a replacement.
Ferguson got an interim title shot on his 14th fight.
Cerrone, whom the UFC loves had to wait until his 19th fight in the promotion.
In today's era to get a shot quicker than Khabib did a fighter needs to have a lot of hype, a resume that backs them up, or extenuating circumstances that force the issue such as McGregor, Eddie Alvarez, or Jon Jones.

Umm, it's mma wrapped in Russian skin.
Meaning it's skewed only towards Russian martial arts, a hint of judo, no BJJ, several restrictions on ground fighting including how a fight can go to the ground and what holds are allowed. Yes, it's much closer to MMA than boxing, but it is not the same sport.

The ground restrictions are mostly a sport sambo thing. And I'm pretty sure the protective give is age based or something. I see lots of match with no gear for adults. Combat sambo is pretty much mma + Gi jacket + headbutting + Groin strikes + minor restrictions on the ground (no guard pulling or wrist locks)

You make a good point, in Khabib's case I just always felt it could have been quicker. I guess the stats disagree.

At the end of the day, Khabib is 5-0 against world class elite competition

This is why the people that make such a big deal about him being 29-0 need to calm down. Plenty of people have went on big streaks outside of the UFC but in the UFC it's different. His 13 fight win streak in the UFC is what's impressive. He wasn't fighting in Bellator or StrikeForce before the UFC, he was fighting in small promotions primarily against guys with terrible records. I see him as 13-0 not 29-0.
Shame what you think means jack shit fuck all.

The guy who made his debut against Khabib was a 3 times national Combat Sambo champion from Moldova.
Also Master of Sports in Combat Sambo, Judo and Army hand-to-hand Combat.
Nice input.

That said he destroyed Conor so clearly he’s one of the greats. Takes the shine of Conor’s record and adds it to his own.

Remember kids, facts are entirely irrelevant. Only feelings matter and if the data says your opinion is incorrect, double down.

Kabib is one of the greats. Be sick to see him come out of retirement and fight GSP. The man dominated everyone. If you couldn’t allow yourself to enjoy what he brought to a fight because you were a Mcgregor fan feel sad for ya, and you should realize your a Conor fan not an MMA.
The all time greats Aldo, Silva, Jones, GSP, Khabib possibly Stipe all had the ability to go on crazy runs defending a title, the athletes ability for focus was nuts and that is an ingredient that separates the greats.

Tony beats Khabib.

Why do you think Allah arranged to have that cord where he did? Even he knew it was a bad matchup.

What are these people smoking? Ignore his fights before. 13-0 in the UFC dominating everyone winning the belt defending 3 times how can any logical person hate on this?
