I just rewatched Tony Ferguson vs Kevin Lee, and I gotta day it was a great fight. But one thing that ruined the fight for me watching, was knowing Kevin Lee had staph. All credit to Ferguson though, beating Lee even with staph isn’t easy. Knowing what we know now, that staph had a big affection on Lee’s cardio. Lee went 5 rds pretty easily in his last fight against Barboza. Lee’s stand up improved dramatically against Barboza. He even hurt Barboza a bit standing up. If they have a rematch in a year, ( which Tony might be out for ) I’m betting on Lee beating him. Kevin in a year would be 26, in his early prime years. While Ferguson would be 35, which is when most fighter’s skills (with some exceptions) start declining. Kevin took Ferguson down easily down multiple times with staph. We’ve seen that Lee could maintain taking someone down for 5 rounds if healthy. It’s still gonna be a competitive fight. Especially standing, but in the early rounds when it hits the ground it’s trouble for Ferguson.
