Media Kevin Holland training with DC and his wrestling students

Nice. I guess he's back from training with his new friends in Dagestan

Guys... What if Holland only beat Jacare not only because Jacare is way outside of his prime... But he also had a ridiculously lucky punch?
It's just that I'm thinking he might actually not be that good.

Good on him for humbling himself in the art of wrestling. That said, it’s going to take a long time for wrestling to get where it needs to be.

The blueprint is out. Unless he fights easier comp, I could see him following up his 5-0 2020 with an 0-5 2021.

He's a good striker, but his wrestling was completely exposed in his last 2 fights. He can knock anyone out, but he needs to focus fully on wrestling which is great that he was willing to do so. He's pretty much still green, but if he can get the wrestling squared off with some good TDD, he could def be a top guy.

Awesome stuff. A striker with defensive wrestling is a good combination.

It's good to see a fighter understand their weaknesses and actively look to fix them
Its a good start but his holes werent exactly subtle. One thing that im really curious to see is if he CARES enough to implememt any learned tdd. Imo hes a lazy fighter and has shown on several occasions that he can make excuses to himself that losing on the ground isnt a loss because i was winning/doing well on the feet. Until that mentality changes, it doesnt matter how good his tdd gets if he just gives up on the fight if its not fought the way he wants it to be fought

Fucking awesome to see. Nice to realize a fighter is humbling himself to grow and DC is offering him the tools to surpass his limitations. War both.

Kevin with Prime Liddell or Crocop or Aldo TDD ist Champion level fighter.

I'm glad he's humble enough to recognize and fix the holes in his game. But I feel like a few months of defensive wrestling training isn't going to be enough to stop someone that's wrestled their entire life.

Have you seen him fight? Seen his striking? On the feet he has the tools to be a top fighter. What you're saying about the jacare fight is mostly accurate but Holland still possesses talent. He just has a significant hole in his game right now.

Worked for ngannou. Worked for izzy. Not saying that Holland is on par with those guys but rather if he dedicates himself there's no reason he can't keep the fight where he wants with some TTD. His striking is nasty and overwhelming. If opponent falls flat a couple times shooting on him and starts paying the price, the expended energy from shooting and accumulation of strikes would probably force most fighters to abandon a grappling based attack. He does have to apply himself seriously though and I'm not sure Holland has that sort of resolve to put the work in daily to fix it.
