Kevin Holland is First A level Athlete in UFC

On paper he can box.

I guess that's a better way to phrase it. He got skills, training the correct way and is taking it seriously.

I'm more impressed with his brother tbh.

If you check out his light sparring vid with Costa, dude can move man. He got feet, angles, head movement, a jab.

More boxing potential than Costa himself tbh.. lol
Nah Jake is the better boxer of the two, probably not the better pure athlete but Jake has a meanness and heart in him Logan doesn’t have

better athletes will choose sports where they can make more money...

theres alwats exceptions, but it holds true in general.
Athlete is sport specific. It’s not some universal where any athlete could pick any sport they want. Tiger woods made more money than most athletes who ever lived. He had no choice to make on what sport the played. Same as Messi.

Right. The standard. A sport played by a tiny % of the population of one country in the world.

Your response weakened your argument. I am going to do what you should have and separate myself from any discussion with someone as incompetent as you.

Athletes in sports like basketball and soccer don't flop because they are weak, they flop because they want to win the game. The consequences for a foul are extreme, and if you flop successfully you give your team an advantage. It's silly to think that pro athletes are quitters.

Positive reinforcement for certain behaviors, this is basic psychology. If you're rewarded for flopping and crying wolf it's bound to seep into your psyche. Now compare that with hockey where if you're caught flopping you're grilled by all the fans, commentators, and then you go sit in the penalty box which puts your team at a huge disadvantage. Physical and mental toughness are stressed and the players' mentality reflects that. I'd much rather Ryan Reaves or Milan Lucic have my back in a fight as opposed to Lebron James. Better athlete or not, Lebron would fold way faster in a fight than either of those hockey players.

Wanna know how a blue chip basketball, baseball or football pro would do in the UFC just watch Kevin Holland.
Gymnasts are A level athletes. And baseball? Lol... Maybe you forgot golf and chess...

American football is an obscure sport to anyone outside of the USA and therefore, cannot serve as any kind of "standard".
If you can't handle the logic that's on you.

I see that you are implying that pro baseball players are better athletes than international caliber freestyle wrestlers.

you cherrypicked baseball, not me....

and baseball is skill specific sport where you need good hand/eye coordination and thsts about it.

you can literally be 300 pounds overweight fatass and if you can make contact with the ball, you have a spot on the team.

basketball/football are speed based sports. players are mostly selected for how fast they can run and how high they can jump.

speed/jumping ability are indicators of explosive muscle fibres.

more explosive muscle fibres = better athlete

its as simple as that.

now of course in some countries wrestling is a national sport abd in other socialist countries the state decides whst sport you gonna play, but in free market societies better athletes gravitate towards better paying sports.

lets look at us. you really think wrestling is getting better athletes than basketball or football?

lets say wrestling was us national sport and top wrestlers were getting paid millions to wrestle, you really think the landscape of american wrestling would be the same?

to some extent.

golf or tennis is not accessible to everybody.

sports like basketball or soccer are.

doubt too many kids choose wrestling as their 1st sport in us.

it's mostly basketball/football/baseball and then they settle for thibgs like wrestling. of course there are exceptions, but generally wrestling will not get the best athletes

That's subjective but certainly not a set of 3 sports including baseball FFS.
Basketball and football are also pretty incomplete sports so none of those two.

I think the only 2 team sports which could have a case as a relevant standard are rugby and hockey.
I agree baseball shouldn't be in there, but the guys in the NBA are some of the freakiest athletes I've seen. Guys at that size that are agile and can run and jump like they do. Many NFL athletes, like defensive backs, running backs, and receivers have a track and field background. some have even transitioned to the Olympics. What makes the athletes from rugby or hockey better as athletes than a Lebron James or a DK Metcalf?

Stupid isn't a sport, you don't have to try so hard

Wrestling won’t, but it’s not like guys just pick the sport with the most money. Baseball generally pays more for longer than football, but you’ll have guys pick football because they are better at it or it just is higher potential for them (e.g., Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray). Same for guys who play basketball but end up with HOF football careers. Agree that wrestling isn’t in that league because there’s no professional outlet. Point being, you don’t just pick the most lucrative sport, because talent and potential isn’t just equal across all sports.

He is right. Dont get me wrong, NFL has some pretty impressive athletes, but from a global perspective, the the talent pool is pretty small. They essentially farm kids from select US colleges, and that is what makes nfl teams. How many college players are there? Maybe 20,000 I'm not sure I'm just guessing?

So a small population means they don't count? It isn't deniable that the NFL has some of the most gifted athletes
