Kentucky Derby...and Beyond?

@BluntTrauma21 sorry to hear about your brother man, I wish him well

@Sharkey so about this formula. Have you actually posted it in the thread or just bits and pieces? I have to admit my head was spinning trying to follow that conversation between you and Blunt a few weeks back. But, I'm really intrigued now and thinking I'd like to see if I can follow along. Maybe even cap a race myself one day, haha. If you're ok with sharing, that is.

Thanks bud.

Welcome to the club, T! I'm basically a downsy when it comes to math, and even I eventually got the hang of it. You're a smart guy you'll pick it up probably twice as fast as me. But it's a secret so Shark will probably pm you the details and teach you the ins and outs of what to look for. The pp's are gonna take time to understand, I still have a bit of trouble with them and have to hit Shark up at times. It's gonna be fun as fuck tho man, I promise.

Thanks for the well wishes, my friend. I'll let him know the Horse Whisperer is sending him good vibes.

He's 11 months younger but yeah we're very close in age, actually were in the same grades in school growing up. Lol he actually is way more optimistic than me when we watch races and all other sports, for that matter. If I tip him on a horse we like itt and he tails it, then he'll be way louder during the race, stands up screaming, a lot like that black dude you showed me in the vid earlier itt, I'm more quiet until the horse gets there and the race is officially over, then we both freak out and it's a lot of swearing and slapping each other's hands to the point where my hand is burning like crazy, lol.

I think I told this story before but when Creator came back in one of the races he won, that was the best. He jumped up out of seat, seemed to jump higher than I've ever seen before, made a squeaky noise like he was hitting puberty again, inaudible, I don't know wtf he was trying to say, funny shit. You me, T, my bro, would all have a helluva time watching the races, that's for sure.

Haha. Yeah, I remember you mentioning that about your brother on here after the Belmont. Love that story. Even hearing about you getting excited too. That's a part of what gambling is all about right? We're looking for that high when we win. And we're going to get that high quite often too.

Sounds like a trip to Saratoga is in our future then. Just don't mind the old fart sitting off to the side with a silly grin on his face while the rest of you guys are jumping around.

Yeah, we'll for sure let you in on it, T. Like Blunt said, though, I pass it along to you in private just because. I'll try to get it off to you either tonight or tomorrow. Are you good with reading the basics of PP's, though? The number itself is going to cover most of the things we look at, but there will still be a some decision making that goes along with it.

Your idea of the basics and mine might be different, Shark, but yes, at least I think so haha. If something isn't clear I know there are guides out there for PPs that I could reference. And there's absolutely no rush my friend, whenever is convenient for you. I really appreciate it.

Awesome, T. We'll get you going soon enough.

And thanks to both of you for helping me forget what an idiot I was earlier. Haha.

How old are you btw, if you don't mind me asking? Even if you were 95 we'd have you up jumping around with us. A few drinks, maybe little herb, (I roll the best J's east of the St. Lawrence and west of the Hudson) and you'll be jumping out of your seat in no time, It'll be "lit" as the kids say.

I'm 48, Blunt. A young 48 that is. You know, I don't do it all that often anymore (maybe once a month or so), but I've done some of my best capping after smoking a joint. I'm sure you've done the same too, so you would know how it can help you focus in on things that you might not have seen when your not "lit".

Favorite post of the day. Sharkey just said lit. I love it <45><45>. 48 is the new 28 nowadays. You're still young my friend.

yeah I don't smoke a whole lot, my brother started to help with the effects of his sickness and I in turn have had my share in the process. I need to do it while studying, I find it really is great for finding things that you don't usual find while doing things while you're not high. I do crosswords sometimes, I got addicted to them for awhile a couple years back.
I noticed that once in awhile when I got to a roadblock of sorts trying to put the rest of the puzzle together, that when I got a bit stoned I actually figured out the rest of the answers much easier/quicker than I did when I wasn't high. Like looking through a different lens of sorts from a different angle. I should try that soon I think you're right. Very good idea, once again an evolution in the capping process.

Anything you think is worth looking at for me tomorrow @Sharkey? I don't want to mess with many claiming races or anything (although I will if you want me to do some) but I'm down to put in a bit of work if there's a track that has most trainers trying to get their horses to win and not pulling the Turf Paradise type stuff we talked about last night.

Well, you did say that is what the kids say, so I must be still young at heart even though my knees and back might say otherwise.

The last time I smoked a joint and then capped a race I came up with It's a Major Award back in Dec at Mahoning Valley. I smoked less than half a joint when capping the race (well, looking for E2 horses that looked okay), and then smoked the other half right before the race. And the son of a bitch won at 8/1. @t6p played along that race with me, and I was too stoned to even let him know. But I had to let him know just in case, you know. I just typed something quick to give him the news then went on with my day.

Gulfstream is going on tomorrow if you want to take a look at that track. Really don't need to worry about public workouts within the race there too much if you are looking at claiming races. I'm going to take another shot at Mahoning Valley I think just because of the way the track was today. And even yesterday for that matter. I have a temporary tweak that I'm going to add to the formula for tomorrow only just because the track was telling me something today. Plus that place owes me some exactas that I'm going to collect on.

Same half a joint is a ton for me to smoke nowadays too. I hit the bowl once and don't even bother to hit it again for another half hour or so, lol. And you're from BC iirc, so that means you have the super strong dank weed out on the left coast. We have okay weed here but half a joint of your shit is probably like 2 joints of mine, lol. That west coast weed is crazy strong.

Gotcha, Gulfstream it is. I might not do the whole card but gonna be looking at at least a few to b/d Funny thing is I've been getting very little sleep this last week or two and I don't even care b/c this is so much fun. I actually don't even feel that tired when I wake up, I dream about horse racing. I'm falling in love witht his sport. As always, I appreciate the feedback, buddy.

Yeah, we definitely have the good stuff out here. Too good for me sometimes even where I just turn into a vegetable staring at youtube videos all day or something. My father in law is an old pothead who dropped a small bag off for me just before Christmas and it's still sitting in the freezer besides that one joint I had out of it. I get really bad stone overs from it the next day if I do smoke pot, though, where both my brain and body turn to mush, so I try not to partake too much.

There's probably only a few races worth looking at on the card anyways since there will also be turf races and even some maiden races which we don't have enough data for. So it'll be a good track for you. Inside speed plays very well there too, so that might be something to keep in mind. We saw a "dead rail" yesterday at Parx and maybe even today at Mahoning Valley. But we also saw evidence of a "gold rail" in some of the dirt races we bet there over the weekend too. I hate to mention this guy's name again, but like in Promete's race. Something like that happening once could be on the horse. But we saw it when a good horse like Mr Jordan did it too in a race there that same day. To me that's the track saying that the rail is the place to be, and that's often the case at Gulfstream. I can't give you a temporary numerical tweak for that. But just use your own discretion, and maybe upgrade the early speed horses drawing inside once you do the numbers and get to the decision making process.

Alright did my best here, only have two races to put up. Maybe throw an exacta or exacta box in one or both of them b/c why tf not.

Gulfstream Race 3- #5 Rogue Patriot 9/5 / Second choice and/or exacta/exacta box option- #6 Admirable Kiss 3/1.

Gulfstream Race 10- #2 Solfatara 3/1 / Second choice and/or exacta/box option- #3 Arcelor 7/2

Playing these small, probably will box exactas small and play them both to win/place as usual. Hope I can get back on track, chalk but I'm okay with it b/c the numbers back it up. Hopefully it plays out well so we can make some money. GL!

I'm in on these, Blunt. Exacta boxes because, like you say, why the hell not.

Hopefully we get one of em to hit, or all of them. All of them hitting would be nice.

Top 3 on the numbers today in order at Mahoning Valley;

Race 2 - #4 Wind of Bosphorus 10/1, #3 Seeking a Mile 5/1, and #1 Chubby Master 12/1

Race 3 - #1A Bret's At Caddies 6/1, #4 Bosphorus Storm 10/1, and #10 Johanna's Delight 15/1

Race 4 - #9 Bryndies Jewel 10/1, #5 Celestrial Image 9/2, and #6 Sandcat 4/1

Race 5 - #7 True Traffic 9/2, #4 Forty Grinder 6/1, and #2 Old Mountain Lane 8/1

Race 7 - #11 Blingin It Back 7/2, #1 Wisdom of Duke 4/1, and #4 Horseradish 10/1

Race 8 - #6 Valiant Princess 9/2, #11 Naval Commission 5/1, and #12 Adonai Power 10/1

I'm going to be boxing those up in exactas for sure for $2 each, and then I might also make either win/place ($4/$4) or win/show ($2/$6) bets on some too depending on the tote board and the value they're offering up. Unfortunately I won't be getting those straights out in advance to you guys since it's going to be a last minute decision if I do make straight bets. I'm not taking shitty 7/5 prices when our horses get bet down anymore.

I might also do races 9 and 10 at Mahoning Valley through the morning as well. But we'll see how the earlier races go first.
