But this comment kinda sent me on a Kanye kick, spent the morning listening to a lot of his earlier stuff. I definitely wouldn't call him a genius but he has put out some genius level work in his career. I kinda forgot actually.

My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy and 808s and Heartbreak are genius. Theres so much innovative stuff going on in those songs and transcends hip hop imo. College Dropout and Graduation were incredible. The work he did on Jay-Z's Blueprint & Black Album, Twista's Kamikazee, and Common's album was also incredible.

Kanye's an ego maniac and slightly crazy but his music reputation is well deserved.
