He should probably just retire as he’s been exposed as never being that good anyways.
Wrong, the second he lost via KO. And looked pretty flattened.
The third was via MD.
i should edit my post to say “first title fight” good looking out
I hear Jan is free next few weeksGo to Lhw like he said he would
You don't think the UFC won't consider giving him a title shot if it's Colby who's the champ by then?I think he seriously consider calling it a career, he’s probably got the money , he’s not getting any younger, the suspicion is that his knees are fubar , he’s got nothing to prove.
If the organization offers him a fight against a top contender that if he won he could get another crack at the title that’s one thing , but it appears the belt will belong to Leon or Colby in the immediate future and I don’t think they want to book him against either one of them again
Now that you say it out loud , maybeYou don't think the UFC won't consider giving him a title shot if it's Colby who's the champ by then?
that'll sell, Shermano. Now that you say it out loud , maybe
They might be nervous trying to sell the same fight 3 times , but I could see it with the hatred they have
Less than a year ago he was the champ with five title defences, now he’s on the verge of being a can. AmazingKamaru Usman is too smug and full of himself to accept being a can.
He should either retire right now, or give it one more go.
That would include a meeting with Belal Muhammad.
Muhammed is the most active, winningest WW in the division, next to Leon Edwards, against whom Kamaru has already failed twice. Losing to Muhammed should make Usman immediately retire.
However, beating Muhammed would put Usman firmly in the #1 position.
If simultaneously Colby beats Leon, then Usman then should face Covington for the title.
If Usman loses to Colby, then for sure he should retire.
If he beats Colby, then that sets up a quadrilogy with Edwards.
If he beats Edwards, then Usman should retire as Champion.
If he loses to Edwards, then retire.
IMO, he should gauge himself with Belal Muhammed first, then decide from there.
The Muhammed fight would also be a fresh pairing, as I think everyone is sick of seeing Colby/Usman and Edwards/Usman for the foreseeable future.
I mean was it really that close? He's still a contender. Why the fuck would he consider retirement after merely losing a close decision to the champ?
If he takes a year off, he definitely will have a TS argument if one of the dudes he's beaten before manages to take the belt in the meantime (speaks about his success that most of them are still actually contenders).
