The "he was a Governor when a riot happened" is such a lazy attack.

OK? How did he respond? He sent in the National Guard when it was clear there wasn't any other choice. How should he have handled it differently? Should he have just mowed down the protesters with machine guns right away? Pretty sure that would have resulted in a higher body count than the MASSIVE death toll of the riots (2 people).

Trump was also POTUS when the entire BLM summer happened. What did the Tweeter in chief do about it?

They dumped him because he was polling badly and this election has higher stakes because Trump is an authoritarian who tried to overturn a free and fair election.

Even if he was dying but was polling strongly they would've run him like when FDR was on death's door yet won the election in a 36 state landslide before dying in office months later.

This is literally my brother in law.

25 year old who has his parents do his community college homework before he dropped out.

We were on vacation a few years ago with my wife's family. He got pissed because my stepson, who was 6 or so at the time, was watching some fucking bunny rabbit movie on Netflix. He was saying all this weird shit how it was representation of trans people because the bunny was wearing red shoes or some shit.

To be fair Biden is not just old. Bernie is one year older and looks more put together and earlier this year I met an old family friend who is 86 and she appeared ten years younger than Biden.

I don't buy that he had dementia but taller folks do age worse than manlets(the family friend I mentioned is like 4'11) and there are reports that he has less energy than even a few years ago. Of course right wingers will exaggerate and engage in partisan attacks but he was slowing down at least physically. I would've voted for him still because I'll take an aging Biden over not just Trump but even other Democrats but I am in the minority on that. Most people put a lot of stock into the person of the president rather than the institutional framework around them, hence Biden's poor polling before dropping out.

Lol, did "the party" just not know how to count when they skipped having a primary? Pretty sure Biden's had the same date of birth the entire time, so if the reason was "he's old", that's something they kind of should have seen coming

Democrats just last year had a president who was older than Trump, and a speaker of the house who was 83, and still do have a 75 year old senate majority leader.

Suddenly "age" is a big issue for democrats, but only for this particular race and not for any other office or for the same office in any other year. Sounds legit.

I'll answer it anyway. Trump wasn't governor, and when he did disperse the crowd in DC, you called him a nazi for it, them cheered on shooting unarmed girls in the throat for trespassing when it was a protest you didn't like.

People age differently. Being "too old" just means showing one's age in negative ways that can affect performance, which is exactly what we are seeing with Biden. It's not like he was diagnosed with a condition that could be seen in 40 year olds or something. National polls even had the majority of voters saying he was too old before there ever was a debate.

I agree on the open borders thing. I don't think anyone in power wants to castrate children. Don't misrepresent people. Their perspective is that people should be allowed to do what they want to do. As a general rule I agree. When it comes to kids I think people need to be less stupid. I've used this analogy before but when I was a kid I pretended to be a dinosaur. I'd even stomp around roaring like the T-Rex I saw in The Last Dinosaur. But my parents didn't graft a fucking snout and tail to me and tell me I was a dinosaur. Our biggest problem in that specific regard today is shitty parenting, dumbass Millenials having kids and not understanding how to raise them properly.

We really need to parse things and be very specific. I'm against Kamala and Walz. You're right that they are very far left. But we have to attack the bad tenets in good faith, and HAVE faith that people will understand cause and effect.

Also tempering this is the fact that they may be far left, but their extreme views won't go far with the people, or with Congress. We have safeguards for such reasons. I'm just as harsh on liberals too. Anyone who really thinks the fucking retarded Project 2025 is going to get in is just as guilty of buying into conspiracy theories as people who think the election was stolen.

Very few people here are honest about how they represent the opposition's views. Someone tried to start a thread on steel-manning opponents' arguments and the very first post was essentially "I can see if you're dumb enough to buy into religion it would give you peace. I'm so envious, I wish I could be that stupid." I could count on one hand how many people actually engaged properly.

If the madness is going to end, it's going to end one person at a time. Make sure you start with yourself.
