An unemployment rate of between 3-5% is considered a "full employment" economy. That the unemployment rate has slightly bumped up is good because we've had an inflationary, full employment economy and the antidote is to excess inflation is to increase rates until the economy slows down slightly. Once unemployment gets back closer to 5% and inflation slows further interest rates could come down. The fact that we've had a full employment for these last few years is a testament to how strong the Biden recovery was.
