We have Jewish students being harassed on Montreal campuses. Some US campuses have the same problem. I'd say it's pretty bad.

What makes the people doing the harassing leftists, exactly?

I'm put in mind of the BLM protests which were described as mostly peaceful because here and there there were a relatively smaller number of agitators who were more interested in creating chaos--and perhaps enriching themselves--than protesting in any meaningful way, hence the looting and fires. Of course those incidents got all the coverage, as you'd expect, sadly.

Just like in that case, the people harassing Jewish students are just plain shitty people regardless of their politics, likewise people harassing Muslim students. Edit: I'm not drawing the same parallel with coverage, however, because I don't have any information about how wide spread the issue is.

And I agree it's bad. I just don't think being leftist has anything to do with it.
