Really depends on who you talk to. She appears as Indian to me. Has an Indian name and was raised by her Indian scientist mother. "The first Indian member of congress". It wasn't until she ran for President that she started to pass herself off as "African American".

Unpopular opinion incoming but I think Biden was an easier opponent.

I don't like Kamala. I think she's very unlikable, and judging by how poorly she did back in 2020 I know I'm not alone. However, she didn't have the party and 95% of the MSM behind her then, she will have them now. I'm sure they will describe her as the second coming of christ in the body of a strong black woman. We'll hear a lot about who she is and what she represents (and yes, that does have an impact in today's world)). Any concerns and doubts about her abilities will be dismissed as racism, misogyny, and other malicious accusations. And the dems will repeat orange man bad ad nauseam because why wouldn't they? It is the easiest thing to do.

Trump's team, on the other hand, focused so much on Biden being a senile old man that I'm afraid they might be a bit lost now. As of now, their campaign lacks substance. It will be interesting to see how they adapt their strategy to face Kamala though.

She went to a black college and joined a black sorority. That's would be atypical behavior for someone who doesn't identify as black. And this was when she was a young woman, well before she got into politics and during a time when being black was a disadvantage in national politics.

She wasn't the first black member of Congress nor the first black Senator so no one could call her that. She is the first black Vice President so people call her that (as well as first Indian American Vice President). This isn't rocket science. You're trying too hard

I don't know what to make of Kamala. If she was an R, she may be celebrated as cleaning up the streets. But she was instrumental in execution of the drug war and disproportionate punishments for non-violent offenders and contributed to inner city violence in California. This drug war certainly contributed to gun violence in my estimation and has led to the draconian CA gun laws that didn't really solve anything.

If a dem is going to win I'd much rather it be Whitmer or some other governor from a state where the leader has to bring everyone together. DeSantis, Whitmer, etc.
