At the risk of sounding like an arm chair critic cunt, most high level athletes in the 21st century are pretty boring people in many ways. Not in their accomplishments, and their spirit, but in how they articulate themselves.
Most high level athletes live very regimented lives, are usually pretty surface level in their world views an cultural tastes, and many just aren't very well read.

I like Gilbert Burns podcast because it's Gilbert Burns, and he actually picks a fighter to win, but yeah most of these guys just don't seem like interesting people outside of fighting.
