Justin Gaethje says he only has five fights left in MMA career

Shortly after another insane FOTY candidate, Justin Gaethje says he probably has five fights left in his career, so fans should tune in while they can.

“I got about five fights,” he said. “I want the biggest fights possible. Coming off two losses, that’s hard to say, but you want to see me fight. If you don’t see me fight live, you will regret it when I’m done. And it’s not going to be very long, I’ve got five left.

“I want to golf when I’m 60. I have a human services degree, I want to do social work. Hopefully I can buy a lot of houses and make money that way.”

Well, he's smarter than Arlovski, I give him that

Somehow, I don't think Justin will make it to 60 if his next 5 fights are like his last 5.

While he is taking a lot of punishment, it is nothing compared to what most boxers go through who are allowed to recover for 10 seconds

Hopefully he doesnt have to resort to eye poking in the future.

Don't underestimate NCAA Arlovski. He was KOing dudes when all they had to worry about was his fists. Now they have the takedown threat to be terrified of too. Opening up the striking game and making opponents hesistant of committing to their shots.

We've only seen a handicapped Warlovski until now. The bandwagon is back on track.

The guy know's what he wants and as a degree to do it, he'll be fine. Besides liking to fight to the death, Justin is a good normal guy.

Arlovski is gonna get serious brain damage in his next fight (I hope not). Anyone who signs up to fight Tia must really want CTE, that's if he doesn't have it already (I'm sure he does).

UFC doesnt pay enough for what he does. He does all that work to get his opponents legs weak and he never shoots for a take down. It could save his life.

So much wasted potential here. I really believe UFC should have capitalized and thrown him into a title shot when he beat MJ. It would have allowed him to make a shit load more money for the few fights he'll give and also put the top guys in some incredibly exciting fights.

Now he's been bounced to lower top 10 and already talking about his departure. Guys like Gaethje you really need to full utilize when the opportunity is there.

Maybe you should look into evasion as a fighting tactic so you can fight more than 5 more times Justin... :p

If I had never watched MMA before I would've thought he was the least skilled fighter on the main card due to having very little evasive footwork or head movement and no grappling either lol. He looked very "different" from the other fighters and not in a good way.

Hmmm...

If he doesn't change his fight style and continues facing top competition, he will be a vegetable in 5 more fights.

So fight MJ in his UFC debut and get title shot right after? I think he got the proper fights all he had to do was win Alvarez & Poirier exposed massive holes in Justin's fight game Frankenstein style fighting will only get you so far, he needz more IQ fighting less walk forward and get clobbered...

He is exciting to watch but it's also hard to watch him just eat shots and use his take 5 to give one + a lowkick strategy.

He already got stopped twice and if he does keep fighting competent strikers he will keep taking massive damage. He probably already has a lot of brain damage. The kind of damage that will show later in life.

Also it's mind boggling to see him not using his wrestling even if he is hurt bad. Supposedly his wrestling is pretty good. He could still be undefeated if he just fought a little smarter.

Lawler is another one that is probably looking at dementia.
