It seems the americans like to called themselves something they aren't, im probably more mexican than gaethje anywayNo Gallego nor Tano will refer themselves as Latino. Stop embarrassing yourself.
This thread seems confused on what is Latin, Latino Americano & Hispanic lmao.
yeah, and Europe is a country.Northern Germany, Poland etc. Vikings didn't just live in Scandinavia. They lived on the upper west coast of Europe as well.
Latino/a is someone of Latin American origin. It's shorthand for Latino Americano. Will try to see if I can get these right. Please feel free to correct me:
Latin - anything / anyone relating to Latin language (ex: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Latin America)
Latino - same as above but is referring to a person.
American(o) - A citizen of the USA, technically speaking. This refers to a person's nationality (not ethnicity or race).
However, in common daily usage, this is (incorrectly) referred to as someone who is a US citizen of European descent.
Hispanic - referring to a person from a Spanish speaking culture.
The one difference between Hispanic and Latino is that Hispanic refers only to people from Spanish speaking countries/cultures, whereas Latino also includes people from Portuguese speaking countries.

The comment of upper west coast Europe is accurate. What's wrong with saying vikings where active in that part of the continent?yeah, and Europe is a country.
Latin & Latino are 2 different things. Latino/a is also a new, contemporary term. Latino includes Dominicans, Cubans, Haitians, etc,. not just people from Central or South America. That's correct, but isn't Latino/a technically also applies for someone from Spain, Portugal, and other countries whose languages have Latin as the origin (ex: Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, Catalan, Romansh)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin#Contemporary_Latin
In the US, it's my observation that many believe Latino/a is only referred to someone from Central or South America, but by definition, this is incomplete and not totally correct.

In fact, Rosalia who is from Spain consistently catches flack online from Latinos for appropriating and pretending to be Latino when she's not.
