Yeah, in the interview, even Buchholz makes fun of them for having short mans' syndrome.

He also says that Faber deliberately picks taller guys to be on the coaching staff.

He was fine with TAM till Faber said he wasn't going to keep Bucholz on as coach. He was only temporarily head coach because they were looking for the right fit. Kampmann didn't attack Urijah or TAM when he didn't get the full time coach position.

Praising TAM saying he learnt a lot from Urijah, Joe and Mendes.



Talking shit to Bang for no reason. Saying Bang manipulated TJ into leaving and pushes him at the end. Bucholz is just sour.

 
Always thought Faber sucked as a coach tbh

That and he's a lil instigator shit stirrer that has his horde of manlets do his dirty work for him. Everyone sees the skater dude with the sandals and shorts and backwards hat and thinks he's so laid back and nice, but Faber is really more cut throat than that and fools people with his act.

Who do they got left? Northcutt who was cut (no pun intended) and Cody who is another ko loss away from joining him in Malaysia? People can shit can Buchholz all they want but at least he's saying what I've always thought about Uriah Faber and even said so on here.
 
Yeah, I didn't realize who this guy was until you all started mentioning TUF. I probably hated that guy more than anybody that season, and that's saying a lot.

All he says is probably true but it just sounds bitter coming from the guy who was trashing Bang and TJ on TUF. Like they say, the truth might take time but it always does comes out. TJ is being vindicated right now...even though he's also a douche in his own right...Lol
 
Basically he backed TAM to the hilt, and now he has been swerved he is behaving like a scorned ex girlfriend.

Funny how much he praises Ludwig after trashing him/instigating fights with him on TUF and interviews...I guess he forgets that was all documented on tape.
Bucholtz seems to be a slimely dude. Not saying Faber is better...but all of TAM and former coaching asscociates have come off as terribly immature and shitty bro-like in their careers.
 
TAM was tops for a while.
The generation that made it tops is on their way out.

It kind of reminds me of The Lion’s Den, but up to modern standards.
Lion’s Den had one guy in charge, who was also too ambitious and busy to take care of his gym and fighters.

Faber did well with the first generation but it got too big over there, with too many talents that needed attention.

Cliffs:
  • Was with TAM from the time that he was a UFC fighter in the mid-2000s up until Elkins beat Michael Johnson.
    • He'd been working with TAM fighters as an assistant coach from the beginning.
  • Says the slump that started after Ludwig left the team got worse after he (Buchholz) left.
  • The only TAM fighter that he's still working with, Cynthia Calvillo, is the only one on a win streak right now.
  • Trashes the corner instructions during Garbrandt/Munhoz for not being specific enough in telling Cody to back off of the exchange.
    • Says that TAM guys abandoned Cody in the cage after the decision was read out. This was ridiculous because Cody was concussed and needed to be monitored.
  • Credits Duke Roufus/Din Thomas's corner work during UFC 235 as the polar opposite of TAM in spite of the fact that their guy lost.
    • Roufus was solely concerned with Woodley's well being after the fight.
  • Has no problems with Bang and TJ and would still work with them. The beef is with Faber.
    • Says that Faber would have to lick his boots for him to even consider coming back.
    • Says Faber kicked him out without notice after a decade with the team.
  • Says Ludwig clearly improved the team and Faber's decision to kick out Ludwig (and TJ) was asinine.
    • Claims that TAM almost folded after Ludwig left.
    • Faber tried to sell the gym but couldn't find a buyer.
  • Says that the TJ/Bang situation was identical to what happened with him, only Cody stayed when he was fired as coach.
    • Says that Faber's ego is out of control and that he can't handle coaches who make better decisions and get better results than he can.
  • Says that he and Ludwig were replaced by guys who have zero experience coaching and don't know what they're doing.
  • Thinks that the team is done now that Mendes has retired.
    • Mendes was the team's anchor.
    • Says that TAM even botched Mendes's retirement announcement.
  • Funny exchange between Buchholz and interviewer about how baffled Cruz has been by the fact that he lost to Cody after seeing Cody's performances in the last three fights.
    • Buchholz says that he cornered 27 rounds with TAM fighters against Cruz and had a lot of input into the gameplan for Cruz/Garbrandt.
  • Thinks that Cody is regressing to his pre-UFC form.
    • Cody can't control his emotions and needs stern coaching.
    • Cody also needs to be restrained in the gym. Cody has hurt guys himself despite the criticism against TJ for doing the same thing.

That's about all that's relevant before getting into "not reading this shit" territory.

Sounds like he pulled zero punches in this interview. I do wonder if Faber's ego is a problem that's sabotaging the gym.
 
Buchholz is going to team up with Ludwig now and together they'll take over the peanut butter game.

Wow quality thread TS thanks for the effort.

It's so ironic how it all panned out in the end, snake criers were actually the slimy ones this whole time.
